The Harvard Square Hotel boasts a fantastic location right across from Harvard Square, consistently praised for its convenience and proximity to attractions. Guests frequently highlight exceptional service from staff members like Keno and Behrooz, creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, concerns regarding room size, noise levels, and inconsistent cleanliness have been raised.

As in the hotel's title, it is located on Harvard Square and within very close walking distance to Harvard University. It is clean and has a great and friendly cleaning staff. In addition, Keno, who is at the front desk, is absolutely fantastic and a dream!!! He's very professional and efficient. As a stranger to the city, he helped me navigate where to go and more importantly how to get there with maps he put together ( I wanted to explore downtown Boston). He even worked out for me how to catch their train and bus, (which ones to take), which can be daunting for someone out of town. This guy should honestly be an assistant to a fortune 500 Executive. He helped in so many ways, including where to dine and what markets to explore. His advice was always good and sincere. Lastly, they have a Hertz Rental Car Office next to the front desk and that young man does a wonderful job and is also very helpful and considerate!! The only negative thing I have to say is that the rooms are very small. However, Keno and the rest of the staff are great and will make your stay very pleasant!

The property is in a perfect location right across from Harvard Square, which makes it very convenient. The staff are consistently kind, helpful, and professional—special thanks to Behrooz, Raj, Keno, and Qavi for making the stay feel especially welcoming. They truly go out of their way to take care of guests. While the facilities are somewhat limited and could use some updates, but works fine for a comfortable stay. Overall, the property provides a positive guest experience and represents good value given its prime location and level of service.

Harvard Square is a great place to stay. It’s conveniently located, comfortable and the staff there were very accommodating. One thing to note, it does not have a restaurant or cafe within the hotel, however there is more of a convenience type area that has coffee, waters, sodas and a few snacks. However, due to it’s location it’s within walking distance to many restaurants such as Russell House, Boston Burger or Joe’s pizza.

I’m a professor and research fellow at Harvard and was invited to give a lecture and was hosted at this hotel. I had a long drive from Virginia and got in late. I was given room 403. All night long there was a mechanical whirring noise. I thought it was the AC or something but it was a door seal problem and noise from the maintenance room right next to the room! Staff said no one had told them about this issue which suggests that they usually don’t give this room to guests. This makes sense since the room is also next to the elevator which got a bit noisy. Even my noise canceling headphones didn’t block it out!! I slept a total of 3 hours before showering and leaving my room early in the morning to escape to Widener Library. I’ve traveled around the world and usually stay in Marriott, and I guess I’ll continue to do so. I don’t know if it’s because the check in staff saw my name and said oh, it’s some dude checking in or what, but it was absolutely ridiculous. Thankfully they switched my room the next day. The shower was high pressure but perhaps too much pressure? The mirror was rusted and the toilet was angled and wobbly. If you’re given 403 DO NOT TAKE IT. The management needs to check their rooms and ensure that they can stay in them themselves. Renovate! And I hope a manager reaches out to me. I’d love to chat.

The location is perfect next to Harvard it made visiting my daughter very convenient even in the snow! The staff was top-notch and the rooms weee were nicely maintained ... I enjoyed the complimentary hot tea and coffee located in the lobby, but wish they had partnerships with local restaurants to deliver to hotel (leaving menus in the room to highlight recommendations for guests).

I’ve stayed here many times and I think it’s the best value in the Square. Rooms are immaculate and well-maintained. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are tiny and lack any surface to put your toiletries on but they are clean and everything works. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a very pleasant lobby where you can sit and work or read. There is free coffee in the lobby. There are great places to get breakfast nearby. Parking on site is convenient (but the spaces are TINY) and priced comparably to other lots, with the advantage that you can come and go for a flat fee. It is not luxurious and you’ll have more space and amenities at the nearby Charles Hotel if you want a more indulgent experience, but this hotel is almost always my preference because it has everything I need and I like its friendliness and value.

I really enjoyed the proximity to everything I needed. The customer service and ease of checking in and out is great. The rooms were very clean, they are smaller but fit what we needed. The room walls are thin, you can hear everything. However, I was ok with this as I wasn't in the room often.

Very well-designed hotel. My mattress was fabulously comfortable and I appreciated the adjustable desk chair. Each room has an iron, ironing board and hair dryer. And I appreciated the motion controlled night lights so guests do not trip when they get up in the middle of the night. There's free tea, coffee, and hot chocolate in the first floor snack area with other treats for sale. The second floor has a vending machine with reasonable prices and an ice machine. Staff was always willing to address my concerns in a professional manner. Would definitely stay again.

Keno at the front desk was so nice! He was such a good listener and was very helpful. Next time I think I’ll keep my personal issues to myself and let him work lol. Expectational
