Hilton Boston Park Plaza offers a perfect blend of historic charm and modern luxury. Just steps from Boston Common, this iconic hotel features elegant accommodations, upscale dining, and state-of-the-art amenities. Whether visiting for business or leisure, guests will appreciate the proximity to the city’s most popular attractions, including the Theatre District and Newbury Street.
The Hilton Boston Park Plaza presents a prime location in Boston, offering easy access to city attractions and public transportation. However, recent reviews consistently highlight significant concerns regarding room size, cleanliness, and value for money, particularly in relation to the hotel’s higher price point. Despite positive feedback on the lobby, staff friendliness, and nearby amenities, many guests find the rooms cramped and outdated, detracting from a comfortable stay.
Rooms were very outdated. Tub had chips and the water pressure in the shower was horribly light. Took forever to shower to get all the soap off cuz of how light the water pressure is. The bathroom door is in desperate need of being fixed. Everytime you open and close the door it stuck, so you have to yank it open/closed. Which was horrible in the middle night because it was so loud it would wake everyone up. Pillow cases were dirty. I will say the view was great and beds were comfortable. Service could have been better. When I checked in, no one told me that I got a $15 per day travel credit to use at the hotel restaurant so I missed out on that opportunity. In addition, they charge you the taxes after already paying for everything. I thought I had already paid everything for my hotel stay but they charged me an additional $40 after check in. They did not tell me they would be doing this so when it was randomly charged on my card, I had to go to the front desk to find out what this charge was.
Thankfully, we only stayed one night. The building, lobby and hallways were all glamorous and beautiful. Unfortunately, once we stepped into the room, we were so disappointed. It was like stepping back in time, and not in a good way. The room was spacious, but the bathroom was so tiny, you could barely close the door without squeezing next to the tub. The cleanliness was definitely not up to par for the price of this room. The tub was peeled and dirty, there was mildew all over the tile walls and the light fixture was covered in sticky dust residue. The space in the room was adequate, but there was a fairly strong scent of mustiness that I wouldn't expect in a hotel of this quality. The bed felt like it was a spring mattress and was the worst night of sleep I had out of the 3 hotels we visited during this vacation. The only redeeming quality, was the location.
Old renovated hotel, expect a smaller room. Food was good but spendy. The staff was great. The location was good as you could walk to several places. The hotel does have fees you learn about when you arrive so ask questions upfront
Do not waste your money here! It is an old hotel that needs updating! Our room, 15th floor, smelled like fish....gross! We asked to have someone come take a look. They showed up with a very heavy chemical deodorizer which was so strong we had to leave the room. 3 hours later we come back and the smell is still there. Plus we reserved a king bed but got a queen!! We tried to call contact the management about the issue but got NO RESPONSE!! I've been a loyal Hilton member for years, but this experience is making me rethink my choices in hotel properties! EDIT: A manager did finally reach out to us about our room and was very apologetic. We got switched to another room which had no fish smell. I just wish that moving to another room was the first option so we didn't have to later move in the middle of the night. But we appreciated Hilton taking it seriously!
Hotel was great. The location for us was perfect. Easy yo get to the parks and downtown. We walked all over plus right on the edge of back bay which there was plenty to do. Our room was one of thr smaller ones and it worked for us since it was a quick trip. Room was clean. We had an issue with the sink but they cleaned it up right away. It was pricey but was a holiday weekend so I expected it. Would recommend and definitely woukd visit again.
spent one night at Hilton Boston Park Plaza and it was such a lovely experience. This historic hotel blends classic Boston charm with modern comfort. The location is perfect right across from the Public Garden and within walking distance of so many beautiful spots in the city.
A Tragic fall from grace. I have stay here every year for New Year’s Eve with my daughter. When we started this tradition 8 years ago, the Park Plaza was a great place to be. Excellent value for the money. Attention to detail for guests, little extras that wooed. Unfortunately- the cool “do not disturb” signs, the Park Plaza pens and note pads, the gingerbread house in the lobby- all little extras that my daughter loved- all gone. The rooms themselves are deteriorating, not well cleaned and have rodent evidence. Breakfast buffet now sits at $37 American. All while the cost of a basic room has more than doubled to over $400 a night. As seems to be the case with EVERYTHING lately, prices sore while the quality of experience erodes.
I have stayed at this hotel twice and the only complaint I have is that there is limited space in the bathrooms. Tiny sink so not much room to get ready but fabulous location. The hotel bar has great espresso martinis and the valet service is awesome. Would recommend!
We were blessed to have been allowed to check-in early, and the room we were allowed to select on the app was a corner room with abundant square footage and a lovely view. While the hotel was busy during a holiday weekend we still felt cared for an accomodated. Lobby was beautifully decorated and the lobby bar provided excellent service and flavor forward cocktails. We appreciated having our Hilton Diamond food and beverage credit benefits plus the food and beverage credit included with the destination fee. Folks on the phone and at the desk were kind. Avoid check-in after 5:00pm until they upgrade to digital key, the lines were busy and can ruin your experience if you're waiting too long. Starbucks was nice as was the fitness facility for convenience. And the location is perfect for taking in the best Boston has to offer.
Really enjoyed our stay here. I felt like everything we needed, they had. Forgot my hairspray and they even had that available. Extremely clean, comfortable beds as always. And we had one of the best breakfasts we’ve had in a long time here. Our server Jenny was so kind and attentive. Would definitely recommend!
