The Element Boston Seaport District offers comfortable, modern rooms with full kitchens and convenient access to the convention center and downtown Boston. While praised for its location, friendly staff, and included amenities, some guests have experienced issues with lobby noise, construction, and parking costs.

We had an exceptional stay at the Element Seaport. The Element is conveniently located a few minute walk from the convention center and many exceptional restaurants. The North End is a very safe 2 mile (45 min) walk. One can enjoy an amazing meal and walk it off. It's also very convenient to public transport AKA, "The T". Boston is very walkable, and public transport is reliable. The Element has fixed gear bikes with helmets that one can borrow for a ride. There are bike lanes, so one can easily ride to Castle Island, the Rose Kennedy greenway, North End, Quincy market, Public Gardens, and enjoy some exercise. The breakfast was a bit boring, but filling. We were there for 7 days. Breakfast was chicken sausage, scramble egg, fried potato or pancakes. They also had whole milk yogurt with nuts, coconut, and fruit toppings, and some cold cereals. The cappuccino machine was a nice treat. We enjoyed many cups through the week. The hotel rooms were very quiet. If you're unfamiliar with Boston's far east/north latitude, be warned that the summer sunlight begins around 4AM. We faced east, with a lovely view of the water, and sunrise. This is something to plan for no matter where you stay. The only downside to our stay was the loud & ridiculous soundtrack in the lobby. One day, a woman kept chanting "it's a tragedy". We couldn't find the tragedy, but laughed that it was a poor corp choice for a hotel lobby. Perhaps Marriott could be a trendsetter and eliminate the corporate soundtracks in public areas. Our stay was quite nice, no part of it was 'a tragedy'. We really enjoyed our stay, and would stay there again.

Loved this hotel. The staff were great, the rooms were immaculate, the beds were comfortable and the whole hotel was very clean. The breakfast was great. They have a high end coffee / latte / hot chocolate machine in the lobby which is free for guests. And the location is great. Would stay again.

This is a nicer, newer and modern Marriott property albeit off the beaten bath and completely lacking in ambience and character, thus the name "Element". If you're a VERY fast walker, it's about a 25 minute walk to South Staton MBTA Station which will connect you the areas of Boston that you actually want to see and roam. The D Street/Element/Seaport area is largely an industrial/former warehouse center with an/asphalt and concrete parking lot vibe. This is a sterile, fringe and pedestrian-dead area with little to no foot traffic and ZERO shopping or restaurants etc. Absolutely nothing to see here. When visiting Boston location is everything. As to the property, it is clean, well maintained with a nice gym, pool and outdoor eating area. The rooms are large and well outfitted. They do a very nice continental breakfast (included) each morning in the lobby with selections to satisfy most palates. Unfortunately, if you're a traveler like myself who likes lounging in the lobby, be prepared for a very rambunctious front desk (at least during my four night stay), and 10,000 watt super bright fluorescent hospital-like lobby lighting around the clock. Not at all conducive to rest and relaxation. A more relaxed and seemingly refined lobby vibe can be had directly across the street at their "A Loft" sister property where I ended up spending most of my winding-down time. If you're on a budget and don't mind the isolation and the seemingly endless trek to civilization (I'm a distance runner BTW), this might be a suitable option. Otherwise, consider spending the extra cash and stay in Boston proper which this is NOT. Boston is a breathtaking walking city with a robust and far reaching public transit system connecting you to everything, except this area. My recommended areas for lodging are, Back Bay, Waterfront (different than Seaport), Beacon Hill, Brookline/Fenway and Cambridge. There are others but these in my opinion are the best. All with easy access to MBTA and beautiful for walking, shopping, eating, coffee shop hopping and people watching.

This is a friendly place to stay. Staff are warm and welcoming. Breakfast was terrific. Good selection, lots of good choices, friendly staff. The location is a bit challenging especially when visiting with kids and/or bad weather. There is not much nearby in this neighborhood. A car is a must. My family was excited about what looked like a beautiful pool and were very disappointed to say the least that the pool wasn’t beautiful OR open. However the Aloft next door had a pool that we were able to use. So it worked out. Again, the Aloft staff were helpful and very accommodating. The housekeeping staff were friendly, skilled and thorough. Finally, the piped in scent in the lobby was a bit overwhelming. Overall a fairly comfortable stay with a small family.

Decent hotel for the location. It was going through renovation in the front and thus was not what I expected. Rooms were fine. In my second night, my heater broke and thus had to change room. No upgrade, just got to move to another same type of room. Would have been nice if they offered me an upgrade or something in return for the issue.

The provided full kitchen would be nice for a longer stay and is fully stocked for cooking with utensils and cookware. They were under construction while we were here and the pool (small) was out of service so that was kind of a bummer. Gym is small but has nice equipment open 24hrs. Helpful staff. Nice shower/bathroom. Clean room. Comfy beds. Good hvac. Great location for access to the Convention Center. Easy walk just across the street. Reasonably priced compared to other hotels.

We had an excellent experience. Nelly was very informative and helpful at the front desk. Breakfast was very good , as well as housekeeping. In summary, front desk was professional and overall the hotel is a great choice for Boston visitors, especially those who are going across the street to the convention center.

**Review from a titanium bonvoy member:** I picked this hotel because it was surprisingly good reviews for it's location. I didn't mind it was a bit further from everything (~10 min walk to all the restaurants wasn't too bad in my opinon), and the few times I've stayed at an Element in other cities, I've had nothing but great experiences. This unfortunately was not the case for this location. We stayed for three nights around year-end/new year's day, and experienced ongoing construction (at the time of writing this review, reading other reviews, it looks like it's still ongoing which is hilarious given they had signs in the lobby saying it would be completed the first week of January). I wish the hotel would have given us a heads up prior to our arrival so we could decide if we really wanted to stay or not but whatever. When I arrived around noon, the sound of drilling by the lobby was SO LOUD that I literally could not hear the front desk staff as they were checking me in. Rather than trying to yell on top of construction, they should've just printed out rules/information and had guests read it. During our stay, the following went poorly: - terrible check-in experience, could not hear anything - only one working elevator due to construction - front staff did not let us know that the daily $15 credit would only apply to the night you stay so I lost out on $15 when I tried to grab something from their mini store Their breakfast is subpar at best, they don't have any sort of perks or special things for higher bonvoy tier members so if you're a platinum or titanium, honestly, go to Sheraton Boston where they have a dedicated room with breakfast, midday snacks, coffee and drinks, and actually treat their bonvoy members well and you feel like your money spent is actually worth something. Overall, the vibe I got from this hotel was "construction is ongoing, deal with it" and "tough luck" when minor inconveniences occurred (that should NOT occur in a normal stay). This told me all I needed to know about how they treat guests, because if they can't make us feel comfortable and welcome when construction is ongoing, imagine how much less they'll do when they don't have obnoxious drilling going on in the lobby. Also, terrible pet fees - most hotels do a fee per stay, they charge per night here. If all other issues above had not occurred, I wouldn't even gripe about this but it's just the cherry on top to it all. Management here needs to do a lot better because this is just sad.

The room was nice and clean. However the hotel was under construction. The fire alarm went off in the middle of the night, apparently it malfunctioned. The hotel is across the street from some construction or auto yard. I couldn’t sleep bc they ran heavy machinery all night. And lastly, THE WORST VALET SERVICE I’VE EVER HAD. Took them on average 20 minutes to get my car. I tried to call ahead, no answer at the front desk. They told me I should have received a link to schedule online. I never received a link, I told them that and no one seemed to care to fix it. It wasn’t until the last day someone finally showed me there app and they input my number wrong. Again, did not care to fix it and then proceeded to take 22 minutes to retrieve my vehicle. I will not be staying here again.

Parking is $50. We live here but got charged a $25 tourist tax. They had an additional $15 charge beyond the two that I mentioned for who knows what. All of these fees were charged when we arrived and none of which were mentioned in the booking, so if you see a $220 room, just note that it’s 320… the shower light also didn’t work in the bathroom, which to be fair could happen to anyone, but still worth mentioning. It is a nice hotel room and nice enough people, just felt like the corp was trying to take advantage of you at every turn.
