The W Boston offers a stylish and centrally-located experience in downtown Boston, praised for its modern rooms, attentive service, and convenient access to entertainment and attractions. However, some guests have reported issues with noise levels and inconsistent room experiences, particularly regarding upgrades and room size.
The hotel itself is nice enough, and the breakfast was genuinely very good, which was a strong point of the stay. The location is excellent, especially if you want to be close to the theatre district and central Boston. Where the stay fell short was the room experience. Despite being a Platinum Elite member, I was downgraded, and it took an argument at reception before they acknowledged it. Not exactly the upgrade experience Marriott advertises for elite members. The standard room I was placed in was very small, and for a hotel at this price point, it was disappointing to find paper cups for in room coffee. It all felt a bit below the brand standard. That said, I would stay again if needed but next time I’d prefer the Ritz?Carlton, which delivers a more consistent luxury experience.
Top tier place to stay in downtown Boston. Service was fantastic. Rooms were clean. Beds are comfy. Jean and Gabriella at the front desk are wonderful. Location is walking distance to several areas of town such as Newbury Street, Chinatown, Little Italy. I enjoyed my stay very much.
This was my first visit to Boston. This location was excellent. Everything was really close by or within walking distance. The trolly is a block away. The train/subway is about 2 blocks away. Chinatown is a few blocks away. Boston Commons Park is also a few blocks away. Always something going on there. Others have said the hotel is quite loud outside. Ambulance sirens, club music on weekends, and traffic noise. True but if you have ear plugs, the noise is reasonable. We did not have a problem with noise. The rooms are big. The beds were better that most hotels. Comfy. Our view was the main street. The staff was very helpful and courteous. They treat you very well. The Concierge, Emanuele Abbrancati, was awesome. We used his knowledge and recommendations multiple times. He was spot on every time. What to do, where to go, where to eat, he knew it all. Use him, you will not be sorry. This was a great hotel for a few nights stay. Very safe. Clean. Great staff. We got what we paid for. I recommend this place highly.
These guys really try to please you. Very nice hotel in a great location. Plenty of restaurants and entertainment within walking distance. We had a nice suite on a high floor. The concierge made some recommendations and they were spot on. They were very helpful. Check in was a breeze. The lobby bar staff was very friendly. The room was very comfy and the beds were awesome. Everything about this place is exactly what I expected.
What a great experience from the moment we walked in the door!!!! We were at the front desk checking in discussing out Harvard visit and acceptance of our daughter. Bri was so enthusiastic and made us feel so important. Later delivered to our room was a congrats gifts of chocolate covered strawberries and cake pops with a card from Bri!!!! We were overwhelmed by the customer service from her!!!! The room was great! We loved everything. The only thing that would have made the experience 5 was the temperature of the shower. It never got quite hot enough. The hospitality blew us away! Bri is Awesome. I hope she gets rewarded for her great customer service,
I traveled for work, so take all this with a gain of salt as I purchase the cheapest room possible but still it was very small and positioned odd (long and skinny). The bed ended a meter from the wall. A chair and table was put right in front of the air conditioning intake because it couldn’t go anywhere else. No place to unpack your bag. The room was cramped. When I checked in it was also very hot. I checked in a little earlier with no issues, which was nice. Service on check in was polite and friendly. Plugs around the bed in the room did not work. The hotel seems dated. No spa on site. Only one restaurant. The gym was really nice.
Loudest room. Paper thin walls. Drunk morons at 3am, multiple nights in a row. Loud club music. Loud street noise. No sleep. Horrible hotel. I’ve had better nights at Motel 6 at 1/10th the price.
one night in boston to see a show at the Wilbur theater. 1st tome staying at a W. It is in a great location. Super friendly staff. great bar with a DJ and an awesome breakfast. Would definetly stay again
What an amazing experience ? From the minute we parked the car the staff was their welcoming us - valet, registration, etc. Our room was so classy ? We received a knock at the door with a nice surprise of chocolate strawberries & fresh macarons. ? We were literally across the street from our event at the Boch/Wang Center ? and restaurants. Thank you all so kindly for your amazing customer service, you filled our hearts as we celebrated Valentine's Day ?? & a show, all while making our stay easy so as not to have to drive in a blizzard.?
My husband and I stayed here the night of our wedding. The room was very clean, and we loved the mini bar and snacks provided. The staff on sight are super nice and helpful! (Thank you Megan) The only complaint I had was the extremely loud guests. We stayed on floor 14, so there wasn’t noise from the entertainment in the lounge, but the guests on the floor we were staying on were very disruptive. They were yelling and partying until 1-2am, slamming their room doors, and overall being disrespectful to anyone to was trying to sleep at that time. We contacted the front desk, and they said they would send security up, but unfortunately problem persisted through the night. This part of Boston seems like a high volume, lively area, so maybe if you are a family or want a decent nights sleep, try somewhere else. Overall, our stay was nice. I liked the hotel, restaurant, bar/lounge and room itself, but the loud guests and lack of sleep I got left a bad taste.
