The Inn at Longwood Medical offers convenient access to Boston’s medical facilities, which is a significant draw for patients and their families. Recent reviews suggest a generally positive experience, particularly regarding cleanliness, staff helpfulness, and bed comfort. However, concerns regarding inconsistent service, high resort fees, and occasional issues with room amenities and noise have emerged, particularly in more recent reviews.
Great place to stay if you need access to Boston Children's Hospital. Clean rooms, well furnished. Beds and temps very comfortable. Their strongest asset is their staff. Angel was a super human, taking care of a couple things we needed help with, including an issue we had with the website we booked with. He took the information, said I got it, and knocked it out in an hour. Truly above and beyond. Thank you Angel & Noah!
The location of this hotel is the only benefit. Rude staff, misleading amenities. The “on site” laundry is in the building next door and only open till 7pm. I ended up having to use a laundromat in a sketchy area since they didn’t relay this info to get my clothes washed. The continental breakfast is for two, no matter how many are in your party. The overnight parking is not the hotels, so any issues you run into, such as being blocked in, has to be dealt with by the lot. The street noise level in the room is the same as actually on the street. The beds were uncomfortable, but they were swapping them out with new ones our entire stay, so luckily we didn’t get one, and the elevators were used all day to move the mattresses around, so it was stairs all day, which severely delayed guests with mobility issues. There are better options. Try them.
Beds are very soft. Rooms and hotel are very clean. Check in and out was easy and fast. Close to every thing medical. Has an exceptional food court attached. There is a gym close by but not in the hotel. Parking is in a parking garage and does cost extra. Vee handicapped accessible.
I dont usually do this, but I assured the manager it was for the sake of the quality of there business. And for future advice to anyone that is suffering from an illness and has to go to the hospital. Well anyways, we usually stay at the homewood suites, which is a similar rate. But most of the time its actually a lower rate. Besides that fact. We drove 3 hours and my girlfriend erika Calderon had to have a surgery for a cancer that came back at brighams/ danafarber. Anyways like I said I dont usually do this but I spent close to 600 for 2 nights, and I truly have to say this place and the stay made it less convenient for us and actually stressful. The specific complaints I would like to make for the manger or owner is towards the front desk lady Sarah, it is nothing personal but, Ive worked in customer service for long time and I just have to say I don't think she should be qualified for a position like that in a place of that price. There was no (warm welcoming) You know, "how was your drive, did u get in ok ?" And there was one incident when I unexpectedly had to change rooms at the last minute and There was only one lady behind me at that moment. I was going to the hospital and I understand the room i was in was booked and thats why i had to change rooms, but I have to say it was just a really stressful experience. in that moment where I had to book another night and change rooms, just before this sarah was on the phone, and She told the guy on the phone she was really busy and had to put him on hold and just sounded stressed which honestly made me kinda stressed. And the lady behind me seemed confused too, it just didnt seem that busy, im sorry but its true. She seemed stressed, and there was some confusion on her part on what she needed in order for me to book another room. I had handed her my id and card right way, and she still seemed confused. No thank you or anything u know ? Anyways ive worked in the customer service industry along time and unfortunately even when your really busy, you have to try to actually act like your not. New guests dont like to see employees under stress or anything like that. After a long drive you want to feel calm. And relaxed Im not even sure if they had music in the lobby. Like jazz or something, u know? A few more things, I showed up there with my eyes completely fine and left with a huge stye on my eye. I truly feel like i got it from the room, but i cant prove that. And then when I was trying to leave I was blocked in! No warning or anything. I had a dr appointment to get to and It was really important, I was very upset. So I then had to go back to talk to Sarah after checking out which just took too long, just to checkout!! and then she just said, "the valet guys deal with that". I couldnt even leave!! That is when I asked for the manger, because Sarah didn't not show me or tell where the valet guy was. So how qas I supposed to know??? Anyways after basically having to almost yell to just leave, a manager came out. and got the valet guy to move my car. I missed the appointment still so really didnt matter, and we will not be staying there again, ever. I truly dont recommend any cancer patients stay there as we truly feel homewoodsuites is a way better option and feels worth the money!! Homewood suites has a shuttle that is really convenient and the parking is more private and convinen too. Overall our experience at homewood suites was astronomically better. And I believe it was cheaper. Any hopefully somehow this make the world a better place. And make boston not feel like such a robbery with a little hospitality. God bless this is to improve quality of business, its nothing personal. Thank you
Great Place to Sleep over when you have all day doctor's appointments the next day. The rooms are clean and nice. The beds are very comfortable. The staff are very nice and will out of the way for you.
Unprofessional, unsafe staff and dirty rooms — do not recommend. Front desk staff were rude and disengaged at check-in; on personal phones texting. The next day the manager showed zero empathy during a medical emergency after staff failed to explain that “included breakfast” required a coupon and was not honored when booking with a third party (this was not clear on their site or on the third party site). As a type 1 diabetic who had already taken insulin, I asked for something as simple as crackers or sugar packets and was refused. Some sugar packets would not have broken the bank or got anyone in trouble when I was obviously hypoglycemic shaking and clammy. There was also no follow-up to check on me afterward when she knew I was hypoglycemic without food. I could have been dead on the floor for 3 days before anyone found me. You would think a hotel that’s supposed to be partnered with a hospital would at least do a well check on a symptomatic diabetic patient who was on the verge of passing out in their lobby. I was lucky a nurse in the elevator recognized what was happening and gave me a candy bar out of her purse — otherwise this could have been very serious. The room itself was poorly maintained: dirty air filters, stained sheets, a broken lamp, and bugs in the hallways. Blackout curtains didn’t block light from bright stadium lighting outside, making sleep difficult. I will never stay here again. There was no reason for the cruelty, lack of common sense, or negligence. I am so grateful to that nurse and I’m so terrified that no one checked I was OK. That’s the most frightening part. I was alone, far from home, having a medical emergency and no one bothered to check I wasn’t dead via a single call or knock on the door. This hotel is not safe for several reasons, don’t stay here. Boston has many far better hotels — choose one of those instead.
Do not stay at this hotel. I stayed at the Inn December 1-3, 2025 I booked through Priceline and paid $301 per night + over $236 in taxes/fees only to be hit with a $29.11 per night facility fee after my stay. I called to dispute the charge (what exactly was the $236 taxes/fees covering if not the facility fee) and they refused to waive it, despite being a cancer patient at Dana Farber. This hotel is a 2 star at best, the elevators stopped working while I was there, the cleaning lady knocked at my door at 8am to clean, and the rooms are dated. Also, no bottled water in the rooms. Being charged additional fees for a mediocre stay at a mediocre hotel was the icing on the cake. Just do yourself a favor and find accommodations a little farther away from the hospitals and just uber or take transit. This hotel is not worth the price. Also, don't book through Priceline (in general), they disclaim hidden fees from their hotels, but in 2025, there should be absolute price transparency, and there is not. Happy to never again use Priceline or stay at the Inn at Longwood Medical ever again.
Shame on the owners of this hotel. The prices are way too high for the quality of the accomodations, and they're taking advantage of people who are in their lowest moments, staying next to the hospital for themselves or loved ones who are receiving treatment. The rooms in the back have picture windows that look out to a PUBLIC interior hallway. So if you open the windows, you're looking into a hallway. And people could be walking by. The rooms have a horrible musty smell. The heaters and ACs are ridiculously loud. The bathrooms are tiny. The beds are comfortable and that is the only redeeming thing other than the location in proximity to Brigham and Dana Farber. I hope to never stay here again.
Very accommodating and so convenient! Walking distance from restaurants. Nicely renovated and clean! I stay here annually, and the service keeps getting better and better. Yesterday, I checked in and was assisted by George, who was so helpful and hospitable.
Our quick trip in to Boston was made comfortable by the excellent service we found at this hotel. In particular, Angel, who works at the front desk, was kind, accommodating and extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel because we found the staff to be professional and courteous.
