The Hampton Inn & Suites Boston Crosstown Center generally receives positive feedback for its cleanliness, comfortable rooms, and friendly service, particularly noting helpfulness with amenities and quick resolution of minor issues. However, the surrounding neighborhood is a significant concern, frequently cited for its unsettling atmosphere, increased police presence, and visibility of homeless individuals engaging in drug use.
This is a perfectly fine hotel. Hampton Inn is a reliable brand and this place is no exception. The reception, the public spaces, our room, and the amenities are all just fine. The parking is in a multi-level garage that relative to any other city is reasonably priced. It is located in a place that seems convenient for many people visiting Boston on business, especially in the medical fields because it's right next to a large Boston University medical Center. My downgrade on stars for location mainly comes from the fact that the surrounding area is a little sketchy. I would not suggest walking at night. Even in the daytime there was out in the open and obvious drug dealing. I saw heroin and hypodermic needles being exchanged right out in the open and many used hypodermic needles on the sidewalk. This could be any large city, I realize that. The price, central location, and the hotel itself were very good. I can't find any fault in the hotel itself whatsoever. Just be aware that if you are staying here and using public transportation be vigilant on the street. There is a large homeless population in the area and I mean this would no offense but if you are nervous about being out at night in that atmosphere then use Uber or taxis to get around.
Very comfortable and clean Parking is very close two minutes walking distance I was very appreciative of the bed that was comfortable and I would say on the first side, which I always prefer The only thing there was a lot of sirens in the morning. It didn’t bother us, but for the sensitive ones it might the hotel provides earplugs. Also, I wanna say that my partner enjoyed the war pool And I really appreciated it as well the ability to connect Netflix from our devices. Also, last thing we never felt unsafe during our stay there.
I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Boston and overall had a good experience. The hotel itself was very clean, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was satisfying, the room was spacious, and the bed was comfortable. The location was convenient in terms of transportation—there’s easy access to buses, and the line 1 can take you directly to Boston Common, which is very convenient. However, the neighborhood felt a bit unsettling. There were a lot of unusual people hanging around near the hotel/hospital, which made the area feel a little uncomfortable. This was the main downside of the stay. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for its comfort and amenities, but be aware that the surrounding area may feel a bit sketchy.
It was a bit loud outside, and the TV didn’t work at first, but I was able to adjust the HDMI cord and get it working. Room was clean, morning breakfast good. I didn’t use any amenities. The front desk people were very kind. I did notice unhoused people nearby. They were outside the hotel area and not causing issues, and security was present. I walked from the garage to my room around 1 a.m. and felt safe. There is a nearby hospital, so there is foot traffic to and from the garage throughout the night, which explains some of the activity. Overall, I felt comfortable during my stay.
Experience begins at front desk. Host was very knowledgeable and personable. Rooms were clean. Didn’t use any amenities. Only issue was sirens and plane traffic. Ear plugs are in the room but both my wife acclimated to the noise. Overall a good stay
This hotel has an amazing customer staff. The rooms are very nice and spacious. The breakfast service was on point…great selection. I felt very comfortable staying here. There is a great shuttle service that takes you to and from the city. The next time I come, won’t need to rent a car. The location is close to medical center, where it did get a little noisy with the sirens at night, but what was so cool about this hotel is that they provided ear plugs in the room. Now, that is stellar service. I’m from NY and I have never received earplugs for free in a NY hotel. Plus, I had a small mishap with my parking, where they were able to resolve for me. This was my first time in Boston and I had a great stay at this hotel during my visit
I should have done my due diligence in reading the reviews before booking here, as the area felt unsafe. Red flags went off when pulling up. The room was fine, it smelled clean when we got there, but there was a giant wet spot on the floor near the AC. However, we were woke up in the middle of the night by a man SCREAMING non stop between the hours of 3:30 - 5:30 am. We couldn’t sleep. Looking out the window there were groups of homeless people, very loud, doing drugs including the man that was screaming. I almost called the cops. Nothing the hotel can do I guess but this was a terrible location. Did not feel safe walking around the area.
This hotel was great! Check in / check out was easy! The complimentary breakfast had plenty of options, even for a vegan like me. When I had a small issue in my room, the staff quickly resolved it. The room was nice and clean. I read other reviews, and they were critical of the location, but I did not see any problems. I felt pretty safe walking from the free parking garage in the evening.
Me and my Wife visited Boston to attend "Simmons University Commencement" for our Aunt's Doctorate. We reserved our rooms here because of location. The hotel itself was great in our opinion. Clean, friendly staff and secure. They have a pool, gym and the room was perfect with a refrigerator and microwave. They also provide a great complimentary breakfast in the mornings and an all day hot coffee station. Warning; outside you will see a lot of homeless drug addicts in the area, however, there was a great presence of Boston Police in front and around the area.
I had a great stay. The gym had a good selection of dumbells and some other equipment. I had a good sleep. Breakfast was as good and as expected. AC worked well. The location is not a very nice area but close enough to where I needed to be. Overall I would return for a short budget business trip.
