The Sheraton Needham Hotel offers a generally agreeable experience with a convenient location and decent amenities, but recent reviews highlight inconsistent service and operational issues. While some guests praise the staff and cleanliness, others report problems with room readiness, unresponsive staff, and facility maintenance. Value is perceived as fair, leaning towards the higher end given the dated condition.
This is our second time staying here and all I can say is, it is wonderful. Demitrus Glover was so kind to us on our first visit and was just as kind this time. He has excellent customer service skills and helped us with learning about our Marriott points. The Manager greets guests in the lobby and when we asked for his help, he moved on it right away. We get a junior suite room and it is so nice to have the extra space in our room and the concierge room for breakfast and snacks. The pool and fitness center are great. We will definitely be staying here at least three to five times each year and people like Demitrus and the Manager make it perfect!!!
I have to say I am very dissatisfied with our stay at this hotel. We reserved a deluxe king room on the executive level with a sofa bed, but upon arrival, none of these rooms were available. Instead, we were given a handicap-accessible room on the second floor facing a back patio where people gathered and talked at all hours. To make matters worse, instead of a proper sofa bed, my son was given a rollaway bed with an extremely hard mattress. The bathroom lacked even basic space to place toiletries, and the bathtub was clogged for the first two days. I reported this issue on the first day, but it wasn’t addressed until I complained again the following day. I requested a room change twice, but was only offered a similar room without handicap features—not the room category I had originally paid for. After four nights, it was clear that getting the room we reserved was simply not going to happen. Additionally, the club lounge is closed on weekends, something that was never disclosed anywhere during booking. As a frequent traveler and a Platinum member with Expedia, I was especially disappointed by how this situation was handled. The staff repeatedly used the excuse that my reservation was made through a third party, and as a result, made no real effort to improve our stay or provide a satisfactory solution. Overall, this experience fell far below expectations and was extremely frustrating.
Nice hotel relatively close to Boston and Worcester. Very friendly, helpful and competent staff and service. Hotel and rooms are clean, spacious and quiet. Beds are very soft but comfortable. Hotel amenities are good and checkin is uncomplicated. Breakfast is decent and indoor parking available. I would definitely have given 5 stars but the only aspect we were a bit disappointed was that the executive lounge is not equipped, serviced and stacked on weekends which is odd.
Very disappointed, my girlfriend and I were here for Valentine’s Day weekend (mostly to enjoy indoor pool) and we were met with a chucky cheese atmosphere with kids splashing us jumping in next to us throwing balls all over the room and screaming and making weird noises. Other guests were upset as well and there seemed to be some kind of high school event in the pool area that we were not informed about. I spoke to the lady una or uni (not sure) at the front desk she said she could not do anything about it other than to send maintenance to the pool area (which did nothing) very upset feel ripped off won’t be back again. Also breakfast is not included as listed. There is also a fee for parking at this hotel which you would think would be included in the nightly rate. Take it from me and spend the extra $50 and stay somewhere nicer.
Good prices. Free breakfast. Convenient location in a hill. Cecelia in the front desk is great too. The hotel is getting older but still great. No complaints and got a suite! Excellent service by Birdie at the restaurant lounge in the front. He hustles and was extremely attentive with the busy crowds.
The bed is softer than most mid-level hotels I've stayed at. The water pressure in the shower is too weak but they do have the addition of a handheld wand which is helpful. There is not a microwave in the room but there is one down the hall near the ice machine and there is a fridge in the room. The room was spacious and included a sofa but did not have a full length mirror, which would have been nice to have. Overall it is a great hotel for a very fair price. I would come back if in the area again.
This hotel is a decent value for the location which is close to Dana Farber's Chestnut Hill campus. Rooms are clean and fresh. My room had a king bed and a separate couch and seating area. The room had a very small refrigerator and no microwave. I don't usually complain about showers but this one was annoying. I could not get the water to a decent temperature and the flow rate was so poor I struggled to rinse shampoo out of my hair. The shades on the window are in a permanent semi closed position and not able to be fully opened though you can close them all the way. There are some fun seating areas both on the first and second floor which are nice if you want to work outside the room. The fitness center was frustrating. Four treadmills facing a mirror only one of which was working properly. One recumbent bike, three ellipticals and some upper end weight dumbells. No small hand weights. The pool had a nice vibe but was awkward to find. Its upstairs from the fitness room. It has indoor garage parking which was a godsend in the recent snow storm. Lots of restaurants close by.
Stayed one night (Jan 17–18, 2026), booked via Booking.com, and overall very disappointed. There was visible mold on the bathroom ceiling (we have a child with asthma), heating issues overnight, and the indoor pool—our main reason for booking—was unusable due to freezing conditions with cold AC blasting in the middle of winter. Breakfast service was slow and inattentive, and paid parking ($17/night) was not disclosed on the booking site.
Good clean hotel. The rooms seem updated, and the service was very prompt and helpful whenever we had a question. There was a large group starting on the same floor but we didn't seem to hear them in the room. Hotel has lots of options for conference space as well, and is very accessible from I-95.
TV had line through it, unable to watch anything Complained about it, never fixed. Room was inconsistent with heating. Was either too hot or cool. Toilet didn’t flush. Had to call maintenance for that too. Restaurant was horrible. Cold food. Cold coffee. Terrible service Have always had good experiences but not this place. Find another place. I’ll never stay here again Come every year but will definitely avoid those Marriott.
