The Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Harbor on Tudor Wharf receives generally positive reviews, praised for its excellent location, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. However, some guests have noted issues with housekeeping consistency, parking costs, and the lack of amenities in the kitchen. The hotel is consistently recommended for its convenience and harbor views, particularly for visitors attending events in the area.
A really convenient centrally located hotel in Boston. We stayed in one of their suites and really enjoyed or visit. The room was spacious and clean. Check in was very easy and the hotel is right on the harbor with a great water view. The hotel provides complimentary breakfast and a fitness room. This is our second time staying here and we have enjoyed both stays.
My electricity went out in a handicap room at night they have no onsite maintenance. The front desk told me to call in the morning after 8:00am. They appear to have put information in their system about the outage and outcomes. They started saying they had a witness making me feel like I was in court for asking for help in an emergency situation . They love their staff and will choose their staff over customers. Just ask Lisa at the front desk. She made sure that was clear to me. I’ve been a bonvoy member for years and have never experienced this. Is this worth $800 per night plus tax fees and $60 valley parking? I put in complaints and the managers or gm didn’t respond I had to find the manager who is very well scripted on minimizing their loss when their building has problems. They just try to brush you off with adding $67 worth of points. To solve their electricity issues. I’ve seen lots of companies protect their staff and just swoosh us out the doer with our money. lol. The rich just get richer. They made me feel very small.
Good location. It is beside the Navy yard and has a nice harbor view. The room is a little aged but no impact at all. The air conditioner controller is behind the TV, not at a convenient place. The front desk is efficient and experienced. They provide luggage storage for free. Breakfast is good but no 24 hours coffee or water provided in the lobby.
This was a great location for our family stay We stayed in a two bedroom two bathroom, which was perfect for our group. The breakfast in the morning was fine but was very crowded but of course it was a holiday weekend. Very convenient to walk to the north end. The front desk clerk when we checked in, was absolutely wonderful. I saw her in the morning handling the guests and she was great. We stayed for three nights and never had housekeeping service. We did ask for towels and got those. That was a little disappointing, but otherwise I would recommend.
while the hotel is in a lovely area there are definitely things that could be improved. like parking and the customer service from reception. vallet is 60$ a NIGHT if you even get a spot, the side parking is 30$ a day. since i’m neurodivergent i need things explained to me a bit to help me understand i was asking the receptionist right at check in about parking. she looks me up and down, gives me the nastiness look, sighs, and proceeds to talk to me like i’m a child. everytime i had an interaction with this individual she was incredibly rude and judgmental. i’m heavily pregnant so im not dressed in jeans and a nice blouse to walk around the city with. i’m comfortable looking so im not sure if it was because of my attire or what. but overall the treatment wasn’t ok especially at checkout with her. we unfortunately will not be staying here again if we ever choose to visit boston once more. way better prices, way better parking, and way better customer service at other hotels in the city!
Alright, a bit disappointing. If you are coming with an expectation to use the kitchen, I wouldn’t recommend. Context: We booked a King Harbor View Suite this past weekend for Valentine’s Day weekend. Pros: - Room layout and sleeping arrangements were honestly really nice. The bed was pretty comfy, and the couch was solid for movie watching. Those were no issue. - The view was solid! We had a nice view of a dockyards close by, some nice brick buildings, and a section of the waterfront. It was as advertised on that front. - Nice staff, and they tried to help us with our issues even if they couldn’t solve them all. I believe the woman I chatted to at the counter’s name was Denise? She was really great, and if it wasn’t for her I’d probably be leaving a lower star review. I hope I got her name right, cause she was the one who helped us. Cons: - We arrived a few minutes after 4pm for our check-in and we ended up having to wait an hour and ten minutes in the lobby until our room was ready. We were given a complimentary bottle of wine as an apology, and that was kind, but we booked this stay a month in advance so it was frustrating having to wait so long. We also had a dinner reservation at 6pm that night, so we had to rush to put away our things once we got into the room, and we didn’t have time to decompress after our trip. - They advertised a full kitchen for our King Suite. Additionally, in the Marriott Bonvoy app, they show two types of kitchens. One labeled “full kitchen in room,” that includes an oven and some good counter space, and one labeled “studio kitchen”, that has a small amount of counter space and no oven. Given that labeling, and that we booked a suite style room rather than a studio style room, it presented us the idea that we’d be getting that full kitchen as listed. Instead, we ended up with the “studio kitchen” style in our suite. My girlfriend and I had intended to cook most of our meals and bake cookies during our stay, and so ending up with a differently presented kitchen with less amenities really dampened our stay. If they fixed their labeling on the booking and app, this would’ve not been an issue. - Additionally the kitchen we were provided was lacking in the usual tools. We were given a cutting board, but no kitchen knife to prepare our food - and so we had to request that, along with a sponge and dish soap. The pans provided were pretty thin, and so they heated really quickly and unevenly. They also had rounded bottoms, which we couldn’t push back flat, and so they wobbled on the stovetop - which also may have been a reason they heated unevenly. They gave us one burger spatula and one ladle in addition to the silverware, no other kitchen preparing tools sadly. We made do on some of our planned meals, but we had to nix some and not bake our cookies. Sad that our stay ended up being like this. We didn’t let it hamper our Valentine’s vacation much, but it was frustrating that it didn’t add to our time. Again though, and I hope I got her name right but I only got a glance at her name tag, Denise really did try to help and she did improve our stay with getting us the kitchen tools and bottle of wine. I probably won’t be going back, but I’m sure she helped make a lot of other guests’ stays more pleasant.
The location is very good and within easy walking distance of the center. The rooms are fine for the price and generally what you would expect from a mid-range hotel. Breakfast, however, was truly shocking. While the variety was acceptable, the food quality was quite low. Even worse, everything was served on disposable plates with plastic cutlery, all of which goes straight into the trash. This made the whole experience feel more like a fast-food junk place than a mid-range hotel — absolutely unclassy and with a complete disregard for the environment.
If I could give 6 stars for location, I would. Less than 15 minutes walk to TD Garden, 5 minutes to the Constitution, near the North End and Bunker Hill monument. Awesome! The only thing better than the location was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. Either they hire exceptional people of the management sets a great tone, or both, but the team there was top notch. This will 100% be my go to place to stay for Bruins games.
The rooms are ok they were clean but was disappointed with the breakfast that was included. The times for breakfast was 6:00am-9:30 am and with people in line they were taking the food away as quickly as they could right at 9:30 sharp. Breakfast especially on a holiday should be until at least 11 am. Secondly if you have a truck parking is double the rate to park.It was 80.00 for overnight parking was there less than 24 hours. This should be made known at time of booking.
We were very disappointed with our stay. We chose this hotel specifically for the convenience of valet parking, which is listed on the hotel’s website as USD 55 per night with in/out privileges or USD 20 per hour, subject to availability. However, there was no indication that overnight valet parking could sell out or be unavailable upon arrival. After checking in, I asked the front desk associate about valet parking and was told it was “sold out.” No effort was made to check availability further, offer on-site alternatives, or show concern for our situation. When I explained that our vehicle has handicap plates due to a member of our party having an amputated foot, there was still no accommodation offered. We were simply told to park in a lot approximately five minutes away. This was particularly frustrating given the accessibility needs involved. After leaving the hotel to find parking, we were directed to a lot directly next to the hotel that charged $20 more per night than the hotel itself. Due to accessibility concerns, we felt we had no choice but to pay the additional cost. We also reached out to hotel management to share our concerns and were disappointed with the response. While an apology was offered, the reply focused largely on service standards and “teachable moments” rather than addressing the lack of accommodation for a guest with a disability or the additional financial burden we incurred. No meaningful resolution or consideration was provided. Overall, the lack of clear communication, compassion, accessibility awareness, and follow-through significantly impacted our stay. Guests relying on valet parking or accessible accommodations should be aware of this experience.
