The Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Downtown/Seaport consistently receives high praise for its excellent service and convenient location, particularly highlighted by staff members like Ashley and Wilford. While generally a positive experience, recent reviews have flagged concerns regarding room temperature issues and cleanliness.

I am at the residence Inn by Marriott in downtown Boston Seaport, and this hotel has the best service I have ever experienced. I only wanna stay at Marriott hotels if they’re going to have this level of service special shout out to Ashly for answering every annoying question I had thru chat with graciousness and thoroughness. To Veronica & Widelfry for going above and beyond to accommodate parents ability to sleep with two munchkins on the sofa bed by graciously changing the studio type where the sofa bed and bed are far away from each other! I’m going to stay at a Marriott again for next hotel stay and if the service is like this I’m a loyal customer!!!

I am an Ambassador Elite member with Marriott and this stay was an absolute disappointment. Upon check-in on December 15th, 2025, I was assigned Room 624, which was freezing cold. I reported the issue immediately and was told it would be fixed. I waited outside the room for nearly three hours. When I was later informed the issue was resolved, I returned to find the room unchanged. When I reported this again, I was challenged by the front desk receptionist (Allana, or a similar name), who was extremely rude and unprofessional. I asked her to personally check the room if she did not believe me. After staff inspected it, they admitted the heating issue was not fixed and could not be fixed at all. While waiting in the lobby, I witnessed multiple other guests experiencing the same issue. It became clear that management was aware that many rooms had no working heat, yet guests were still being checked in. This was during very cold weather in Boston (around 14°F), and I saw guests waiting in the lobby wearing coats, gloves, and hats. Later that day, I was moved to another room with working heat. However, the following morning I discovered the room (Room 411) was dirty and had bed bugs. I woke up with multiple bites on my feet. I immediately contacted the Marriott Ambassador line, had my reservation canceled, and moved to another hotel. I stay in hotels roughly half the year, and this ranks as one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. I strongly recommend avoiding this property—especially in winter. If you do stay, consider bringing your own mattress cover and sheets.

Beautiful hotel. Newer Residence Inn with the designed rooms giving some old Boston charm. Clean rooms. Upon entry there are cookies by the wonderful and kind reception staff. LUCKY'S is a half block over and a great late night choice. Many places to eat surrounding the hotel. Parking garage is very close, but they also don't mind if you unload your car and stay in the driveway a few minutes. Very convenient.

My favorite hotel in the seaport. Spacious rooms with great finishings. Fabulous location. Flour bakery and many great restaurants are nearby and south station is a short walk.

Cool hotel. Very new and well maintained. They upgraded me to a suite which was nice. Such a cool part of town. I’d definitely stay here again. It was a bit pricey for a residence inn… ~$650 / night. But the hotel and staff were all wonderful. So no complaints from me.

My husband and I have a home in Vermont we try to visit every season (we live primarily in South FL) and have found it easier since having a baby to fly direct into Boston, spend the night, and drive the rest of the way the next day. Our son is a toddler now and therefore we have spent many nights together in Boston at this point, and have tried a variety of different hotels. This location became our instant favorite since trying it and we haven’t moved to another hotel since! Every single staff member we’ve ever encountered have been kind, professional and accommodating. We are always recognized by our high status, given upgrades when available or a courteous late check-out. The rooms are clean and spacious and come with everything you would need, which makes traveling with our son a whole lot easier. The location is also top notch as it’s a beautiful and short walk to the water and near by plenty of great restaurants. We have definitely found our absolute “must stay” hotel when in Boston, and it’s this one!

Just had a 3 night City break in Boston and this was just what we needed. The location was excellent next to prime locations including the freedom trail, Boston Common and the Logan Airport. The room was nice and big with a little kitchenette and a separate bedroom. However, there was unfortunately only one bathroom. The breakfast was decent, with an okay amount of options. The service was friendly but didn't see much of the staff. Overall, would probably come here again in Boston.

If you're a light sleeper, avoid this hotel. We stayed for one week and had to switch rooms twice because of noise issues. The walls are paper-thin — we could hear conversations, showers, and even footsteps from upstairs. We requested a specific room before arrival, but the hotel didn’t honor it. When we finally changed rooms, we were moved to a worse one, and only after another complaint did we get a more tolerable room. The staff apologized, but it felt insincere. For almost CAD 5,000, this hotel was not worth it. Very disappointing overall.

I recently stayed at the Residence Inn Seaport and had a mostly great experience. The location is perfect, and the staff were very accommodating. Breakfast was solid, though one morning, I had a muffin that gave me an unexpected jolt, almost like it had been carefully prepared to leave a lasting impression. Still, the room was comfortable, and the service was top-notch. Overall, a pleasant stay, and I’d definitely return.

The hotel is really nice and kept in great shape. Comfortable beds, decent breakfast and prime location. Everything one would need on a quick 48 hour trip is within walking distance. Ashley and Wilford were great welcoming in our family. Parking is $45 a night, good compared to other hotels in the area. Great retail shopping choices within a 10 minute walk. They also do a great job honoring status.
