The DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown receives mixed reviews, with guests praising its location, friendly staff, and comfortable rooms, particularly the Executive Lounge. However, recurring concerns include inconsistent service, billing issues, cleanliness concerns, and noise levels, especially regarding the air conditioning unit. Recent feedback highlights issues with parking fees and a lack of amenities as advertised.
It waa a nice place to stay. Clean, very busy but good. They need laundry services but there was a comedy show and bar with food and a nice pool/workout area.
So I hate leaving hotels low reviews, but basically I called on may 5th requesting a reservation for may 13th, the lady said she did but didn't ask my name this par was o me caus I should of triple checke but she said I was all good to go and I would pay on property and that it was all reserved for me, so on may 13th my boyfriend birthday I called asking to make sure it was reserved and they said they couldn't find one for me, which I was like Oh ok, the lady talking to me had a bit of an attitude, I asked her if that since it didn't reserve I would be O with reserving one right then shortly after she said hold on with a attitude then transfered me abruptly without saying anything an then a guy answered and she said she was too busy to talk which I understand but she could of told me that,I then get there and check in and after I went down to see about getting popcorn for a movie thing with my bf the guy just had an attitude and told me look for it myself which I was like oh ok some lovely gentle men helped me out there and he suggested I go to market basket I just felt ignored tho and felt like they were judging which I fine everything else wa great, like the food and room was good I work in customer service so I usually don't like to complain but usually more money you pay the better the hospitality should be or so I thought
Wonderful stay. Dinner service in the restaurant was extremely slow 2 nights in a row...food came quickly, it was the servers who were very chatty and didn't come back often enough. The food was fantastic.
Overall, it was an okay stay, but there are a few things that should definitely be improved. At breakfast (which is paid), they charge $4 for a coffee, yet the exact same coffee is available for free in the lobby. That makes no sense at all and honestly feels like a rip-off, how can it be free if you don’t consume, but charged if you do? The bathtub in my room was clogged, which was inconvenient and something that should be addressed. I also noticed that several of the products being sold were expired, which is worth reviewing. Nothing major overall, but these details do make a difference in the experience.
Stayed here for a business trip. The staff were very friendly. There is an Executive Lounge that can be used if you have Diamond status. Includes free breakfast for Diamond members. My stay was lot long so I did not need any housekeeping. Plenty of restaurants in walking distance and was a 5 minute ride to where I needed to work at for the few days I was in town.
The room was very comfortable including the bed, shower, etc. My only real complaint was parking. Because it was frozen outside, the girl behind the counter said that the normal garage entrance was closed and that I would have to go around. Unfortunately, the garage is not labeled as being for the hotel. I had no instructions on how to get in or out without paying, which was really irritating. Some training for the front staff is probably in order.
I can't wait to stay here. Over the phone the reservations desk was so helpful at were able to find an excellent deal for me even though the SNHU discount rate rooms were already all booked. I'm so excited to stay across from the SNHU Arena for graduation.
So I stayed a whole week and my room was only serviced once. So ran out of coffee on day two. The service at some of the 2* hotels near manchester airport are better - and offer free parking. Was very disturbed to hear Antonio on front-desk talking to co-workers about the unfortunate homeless people in Manchester as "Zombies". This de-humanising less fortunate people in their community is totally at odds with Hilton's core vales. I worry what he'd say about minorities or other marginalized members of society. I come to Manchester monthly and this was my first (and last time) staying at the DoubleTree.
Overall great, but I will suggest not going to the buffet breakfast, it is not included and def not worth the price of admission. There is a great breakfast place around the corner (all indoors walking), just passed the parking garage that has great breakfast sandwiches!
Not a big fan of writing reviews, but when something is not what it is foretold to be, i like to warn innocent people of bad business practices....ZERO STARS. Where do I start. We arrived and were told we have to pay 15$/night for parking ( not previously mentioned) the room we rented didn't have the microwave we were told it had (there was a single one in the lobby, I'm assuming that was the included microwave although booking.com said it was in the room, and we were on floor 7) The breakfast that was included in our purchase, was NOT included with our purchase. The beds were very uncomfortable for my entire family, not just me. The "pool and spa" were just a pool, no spa (money grab) The food in the restaurant in the lobby was bland, tasteless, and overpriced for what it was. Upon arrival home, we checked our bill and noticed that they charged us for our dinner and drinks to our room, even though we paid cash, and when we called to resolve the billing issue we were met with rude comments and were send down a spiraling list of numbers and extensions to call only to be met with a voicemail that was full, thus not resolving the billing. The only thing they have going is the many amenities for drinks and dinner OUTSIDE of the hotel in the area. 10 / 10 would NOT recommend this place to anybody. Your only paying for the hotel lobby to look decent. EDIT: After reading the other negative reviews after writing this one, I'm hoping for a real resolution to these issues, not the mundane responses others have received for their unfortunate visit to this location.
