The DoubleTree by Hilton Boston Logan Airport Chelsea offers convenient access to the airport and Boston, with generally positive feedback on staff friendliness and a comfortable stay. However, recurring issues with parking costs, room maintenance, and inconsistent customer service have been noted, alongside concerns about noise levels and potentially outdated facilities.
We had an incredible stay in Boston over this weekend, it was my anniversary with my gf and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay. The staff mainly Yari was so amazing, so kind and friendly, from the second we walked in she had a smile on her face. The cookie they gave us was amazing to the point that we had to buy a tin to take home with us. We will definitely be staying here again next time we’re in Boston and we pray to see Yari and have the same wonderful experience. Thank you so much for making our anniversary special!!!
This should have been a great stay but honestly we were very disappointed overall. 1) Parking was too expensive 2) TV did not work in the room 3) Refrigerator also did not work 4) We got a breakfast credit but for that breakfast?! We still had to pay another $17 dollars after the credit. Not worth it. 5) with the exception of the person working breakfast who was friendly and helpful everyone else was super unfriendly and could not be bothered. Not a hello or good morning from anyone. 6) The property looks relatively new, but it’s already in disrepair in many areas. This is not Hilton worthy behavior and made for an uncomfortable stay. Next time we can are in Boston we will look elsewhere.
The heavy glass shower door does not stay closed. There is no anti-slip mat for the shower. which is dangerous. It takes some time hot water to get up to the fourth floor. All the rest is fine the baddest comfortable in the heat can be controlled by a thermostat which is in the room. Not too much noise traffic because you can't open the window for fresh air.
I think my only issue would be -- not much variety in meal options! But, what was available was good! I would like to say that the staff are friendly. The bartender/wait staff Thomas (14) was the greatest.
Ana, who managed the morning breakfast, went above and beyond and made sure that everything was well stocked, clean and appetizing! It was super convenient to the airport and very easy to use the shuttle to get back in to the airport for my flight. I highly recommend this place!
My wife Ellen and I are long-time Hilton Honors members. We stayed at the Double Tree by Hilton-Chelsea near Boston's Logan Airport on October 9 to begin a planned New England fall color trip. As it turned out, a late summer/early fall drought prevented the typical explosion of fall colors in New Hampshire and Vermont and we cut the trip short and came home early on October 15, staying at this hotel again the night before we left. The problem arose from a requirement at the hotel that we pay in advance for our originally planned last night at the hotel on October 19. Long story short, the hotel charged us for three nights even though we only stayed two nights. The front desk refused to refund our payment for the third night, saying we would need to talk to the general manager, Kristin Kelley, who was not there. I called the hotel to speak to her three times and left messages for her since our stay, and she won't return my calls. So we are out about $500 (fall colors premium price) for the evening of the October 19, and she refuses to issue our refund even after I left several messages for her over a period of weeks! Weeks! In my opinion, Ms. Kelley should be fired. She has been completely unresponsive, and we feel cheated.
Conveniently located close to the airport and to the area in Boston where I had to get my passport within a day! This hotel has friendly staff, checkin was a breeze. They even give you a warm chocolate chip walnut cookie, much needed after a whole day of early morning flights from Norfolk to Charlotte to Boston. Room with king bed was very clean, minimal but modern and tasteful decor. Bathroom has hand and bath soap and shampoo/conditioner that were fully stocked. Bathroom had a lighted magnifying light, not a lot of hotels do. They offer $20 breakfast buffet, not that I've tried but makes it convenient for those who want to get fueled before their day starts. They have an airport shuttle that leaves every half hour starting at 5am.
Our flight home was CX due to weather so we stopped here for the night. We felt welcomed as family from the moment we stepped in. The staff here definitely turned a frustrating situation to a good time. Front desk receptionist was friendly and very helpful. We ate at the restaurant and had the pleasure of having Thomas as our waiter, whom was also very friendly and had excellent recommendations. The food was amazing!! Hotel shuttle was free, and quick even with the traffic. Took about 15-20 minutes one way to airport. Rooms were clean, and bed was comfortable. Only thing we did not like was the walls were pretty thin and we could hear the neighbor talking and watching TV very loudly. And the elevator is pretty slow.
I had a great time in Chelsea! Doubletree by Hilton is the best! The staff provided us with A-1 service and were very informative ?. Our best part of the trip... believe it or not...my wife and I were looking for a place to eat and my wife decided that she would like to try the restaurant at the hotel. Let's just say, I was not a fan but I went with it. To my surprise, the food at the restaurant was phenomenal! Mr. Thomas the (Bartender) helped us choose the best options and boy, he was right! The food and service is second to none. Think im lying...try it yourself! You want be disappointed.
The website doesn't state how the hotel charges $30 for parking on / around their property. Absolutely ridiculous. Maybe a warning on your website for potential customers would be smart. Our room was dirty; hair in the shower. Front desk did not manager does not have very good listening skills. Trying to explain that they credit card machine wasn't working; insisted that it did. Was very strange how I wasn't made to sign for the incidentals, etc. in advance of receiving my room keys. Cleaning lady was singing ultra loud to herself in the hallway. If I were a guest and needed to catch up on rest, I'd be really upset by this. When we checked out, the receptionist appeared more interested in watching her phone than wanting to print out a receipt. Had to do this, as I did not trust them and their hidden charges. We were there for less than 7 hours and still can't get over how they charged $30 for parking. They claimed that their establishment did not own the parking lot. What good hotel builds on a property that they don't own. Maybe I answered my own rhetorical question.
