The Crowne Plaza Boston Woburn generally receives positive feedback, particularly highlighting its convenient location and helpful staff, especially during events. However, recurring concerns revolve around dated room furnishings, inconsistent service quality, and issues with room amenities such as microwaves and functioning fridges. Recent stays have faced incidents related to housekeeping procedures and billing inaccuracies.
Cons: beds are hard, the longest hallways in any hotel, no microwaves in the room, ice machine, and the microwave is located near office only, breakfast was not worth $23 each, restaurant not open for dinner and supper was basically just overpriced bar food. Shower takes a long time to get hot. Pro: good water pressure
We chose Crowne Plaza Woburn as the venue for our son’s wedding. The location is very convenient for an event because of easy access for air travelers. From our first meeting with Sonia Deros, Director of Catering, we felt confident that the hotel would be a good fit for us. We had an Indian style wedding and were worried that we would have a tough time with arrangements. Sonia was not only very positive, she had a lot of the information immediately accessible including Indian catering options. We left our first meeting with a very precise idea of our next steps. We needed help with having a havan (small fireplace) for the wedding and Sonia was very helpful in setting it up with a fire fighter available keeping an eye. Throughout the organization process, Sonia was always helpful making constructive suggestions, helping us reserve the rooms and organizing food and beverages. The wedding went off well and we would whole heartedly recommend Crowne Plaza for an event and very specifically, if you are organizing an Indian wedding, it is a great option. The only issue we had was with the hotel room reservation. The wedding ended with lunch. The hotel honchos would not give us an extra couple of hours to rest for a few minutes and pack up and leave. Sonia tried her best but could only get us an hour. That was disappointing since we had reserved a number of rooms. I hope Crowne Plaza can come up with a more generous policy giving the parents who are organizing the wedding a little breathing room. The best part of organizing a wedding at Crowne Plaza-Woburn is Sonia Deros, who helps reduce the stress of organizing the wedding with a well heeled operation. Thanks!
This is a wonderful hotel to stay in. Plenty of parking, clean hotel & comfortable guest rooms. The hotel has ample event space & the restaurant is a treat. Scoreboard is a well maintained sports bar that serves breakfast through dinner. The staff is friendly & professional. The added bonus is the stage & entertainment. During the week they host karaoke, music bingo & trivia. On the weekend you'll find DJs & live bands to a packed house!
The room was spacious enough. Clean and smells good as soon as you enter the lobby. Love the music at the pool. The only issue I had is the long walk from elevator to our room since I just had a foot surgery, the fridge and room key not working. Other than that, it was a good stay.
Please beware that they allow their housekeeping managers to just open your hotel room door starting at 8am. I was a guest here with my fiancé and the housekeeping manager Veronica, opened the door as she was unclothed. I was told they didn’t have do not disturb signs available at front desk. I went down to the front desk to speak to them and they accused me of being under the influence, which was untrue. We were discriminated against for having tattoos and piercings. The front desk manager Meghan was very rude and treated me and my fiancé like we did something wrong. They didn’t even deny the fact that they allow the housekeeping managers to just walk in. So please be aware of this situation. Police report has been filed and we will be pursuing the matter with a lawyer.
Whatever you do avoid this hotel at all costs! I’m not one to write a review but my experience has been so bad I feel obliged to try and help anyone else from having to deal with this hotel. If you’re just looking for a place to sleep you’ll probably be fine (if the front desk computers work). That was the first issue was the computers were down and no one knew how to fix it. A line of people waiting to check in. No big deal. I check in and get to the room after an hour wait. There was renovations that were underway so it was like a maze to get to where you need to go. You had to drive to the back of the building and take the stairs to the room assigned. I call the front desk to find out where the pool is because every website advertises that this hotel has a heated pool and my son’s birthday wish was to go swimming. No answer from the front desk. I tried 4x. I call the hotel number and leads me to a person that couldn’t tell me where the pool was located and told me to go to the front desk. I drive back to the front to ask and the woman at the front desk tells me the pool and gym are closed. I asked for a refund and she said no problem call booking.com and you will get a refund. Booking.com says the hotel has to release the funds. I then ask for a manager and was told no manager now call tomorrow and talk to Meghan. I just called and magically Meghan worked overnight and a manager wont be there until tomorrow unless I want to talk to the restaurant manager. The way this hotel operates is a nightmare. I would strongly suggest booking elsewhere.
In August 2024, I stayed at this hotel for 10 days (8/31–9/10) during one of the most traumatic periods of my life. My husband was admitted to Massachusetts General Hospital after cardiac arrest and a stroke and was awaiting a double lung transplant and a transfer to U-Penn in Philadelphia. I was alone, away from home, and not here for business or leisure. During that stay, the Crown Plaza and Scoreboards restaurant staff were exceptional. They learned my situation, asked about my husband daily, and showed genuine concern. They became my temporary family when I desperately needed one, and it made an enormous difference. Fast forward a year: my husband received the transplant he needed and made a full recovery. I wanted to bring him back to see where I spent those 10 difficult days, so we checked in again on 12/27/25. Check-in was handled by a front desk associate named Meamie (forgive the spelling). She was a lovely oriental lady. I had called ahead to request the same room, and while it was already taken, she remembered speaking with me earlier. The room was clean and comfortable, and dinner at Scoreboards was excellent; our server even remembered me and congratulated my husband, which deeply touched us. Breakfast the next morning was also very good. Unfortunately, the stay ended on a disappointing note. Before checkout, I walked to the desk and personally asked the same associate (Meamie) for a one-hour extension (checkout is 11:00). She checked the computer and confirmed that it was fine. We left the lobby at 11:45, dropped the keys in the box, and departed without incident. A week later, I discovered an additional charge on my credit card. When I called, I was asked, “Who authorized your late checkout?” I provided the full context, including the in-person confirmation, and I have now followed up twice with no response. The experience has overshadowed what had otherwise been a very meaningful return visit. My advice to future guests: if you request a late checkout here, get written confirmation—otherwise you may be charged for it. It saddens me to say this after how extraordinary my first stay was, but the lack of accountability and follow-through has left me disheartened. I had no trouble with anything, the only thing that stopped me from having a better experience was them remodeling the lobby. Which isn't anyone's fault at all, it was just crap timing on my end. The only thing was when i booked the room, the photos online showcased a room that was bigger than the one i got, and online it said it would have both a microwave and mini fridge. It did have the fridge and a coffee maker area however no microwave. They are clean, super sweet staff, and i felt safe parking my car there. Security was active and the hallways were usually quiet. I want to make sure I give one employee recognition by name because she was truly amazing. Destiney checked me in when i arrived and she was beyond friendly. I felt so welcomed and since it was my first time in MA, it was extremely appriciated, so thank you! I will be staying here again. ? ??
I had a great stay at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It was comfortable, convenient, and felt very safe, especially as someone staying alone for the night. I didn’t eat at the restaurant, but I ordered takeout and it was easy and convenient. The staff were incredibly friendly and chatty, which made the whole experience feel welcoming. The only downside was that the rooms can be a bit far from the elevators, but it wouldn’t stop me from staying again. It’s also perfectly located near shopping and close to Boston, which made getting around super easy. I’d definitely stay here again!
We had a great experience at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Boston. The price was very reasonable, and the hotel itself is beautiful, well-maintained, and extremely clean. The room was very well organized and spotless, which made our stay even more comfortable. The staff was wonderful—friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. The breakfast was excellent, with a very well-served buffet and a great variety of options, which was a lovely way to start the day. Even though we only stayed for one night, it was more than enough to leave a great impression. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again if we return to Boston for another event or decide to plan a different itinerary in the city.
