The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Boston Bayside offers a comfortable stay with generally positive guest experiences, particularly regarding friendly staff and convenient access to transportation. However, recent reviews highlight issues with inconsistent service, outdated facilities, and limited food options, alongside concerns about cleanliness and parking costs.
We chose this place because it fell under our price range. The room was fine, it was clean. The view wasn't great and the bed was softer than I'd like it. If you want to be close to shops and restaurants, this is not the place. There was no soap by the sink. I understand if the hotel wants to get rid of having to deal with used soap but at least replace it with liquid soap so I don't have to keep pumping the soap from the shower. The "cafeteria" was not good at all. We checked out around 10am on a Monday and on the baked goods side they only had one really doughy butter croissant and 6 muffins left. Really not impressed. If we do go back to Boston, we will definitely not be staying here again, especially for the price they charge.
Negatives: Stayed here for the Boston Marathon and nearly the whole stay added nothing but stress. First, you are to send a message for the airport pickup. After confirming what terminal, it was almost an hour before driver said he couldn't make it due to traffic and to book ourselves a cab. Not to rearrange transport, do it ourselves. While we were travelling at about 4PM, traffic didn't seem to be that busy to normal for that time of day and where at hotel in 20 mins. Hotel reception and cafe seem to have conflicting times as to when breakfast is as reception would tell us 6 and the kitchen would say 7. On top of that, 4 of the 5 breakfast we had took at least 30 mins to arrive. Options limited for breakfast. Drinks are not included unless stated in the option you select. Everywhere in the hotel is dusty. We had requested a crib for the room that wasn't there even though we confirmed it as we checked in that the request was received and it should be there. Walls are thin so if anyone is in the room beside you can hear conversations. Shower is a head fixed to the wall so can bring down to rinse body properly. Charged for breakfast even tough it was included with our stay. Told it would be taken off but we were still charged. Positives: Cookie was nice on arrival The male waiter on breakfast was very friendly. Location wise it's close to the red line so can be in central Boston in about 20 mins. Coffee pod machine in room.
The staff were very friendly and resolved all of the issues we had. Was a great stay and great hotel. They were very accommodating and answered all of our questions. Make sure to take photos of the waters and room before you stay, they are shown as $3 in the room but they actually charge $5 and one of ours was initially tampered with, but they were able to refund us. We had some leftover items from someone's previous stay as well that they cleaned up the next day. For parking there is a free visitor parking lot with chargepoint EV chargers a 15 minute walk away across the walking bridge at southline boston, parked all week without getting tow/ticket. The destination charger on the map does not exist at the hotel. It's $27/day to park at the hotel which is not worth it for the location. The microwave was broken but they replaced it within 2 days. They lent us extra sheets and blankets and pillows for an additional airbed! Everyone that I talked to part of the staff were very kind and helpful. The cookies were delicious with chocolate and walnuts.
We stayed here for 3 nights to visit our daughter. As soon as we landed at Logan Airport, I called and texted the hotel to arrange pickup from the airport. They were there within 15 minutes and were very friendly. We were early but was able to check in so that was nice to get settled and a bit of rest. Of course, we were welcomed with the yummy cookies and Francisco was very helpful. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the Red T Train station so we utilized that during the weekend. We also utilized the airport shuttle at 5 am on the way back home. While this hotel is south of downtown, we would definitely stay again because we enjoyed using the train but also having an airport shuttle. The room was comfortable and cleaned every day.
Definitely expected more of this hotel when it comes to a very reputable chain it’s not that I had a terrible experience but not the best. The room heater was a blast of dust and very disgusting and unhealthy to breathe, I had no option to take it so if I did not want to freeze in the room The gym was extremely abandoned and unorganized, could not workout very well so I decided to go for a run probably within one of the best areas for running in the city (bayside) Capet was not clean at all but guess carpet is not the cleanest surface ever…
I recently stayed in DoubleTree Bayside Boston for one night to attend a job interview. The staff were so kind and accommodating. For example, I forgot toothpaste and the front desk offered a small travel size Colgate tube, instead of me having to get transportation to go buy some elsewhere. They also helped me print off some documents in preparation for my interview, which alleviate stress levels! The room was clean and quiet and the cookie upon arrival was delicious! Also, as a solo international traveler, the free shuttle bus to and from the airport was a huge help. The process was smooth and the staff were very supportive. Highly recommend this place!
Great stay at DoubleTree Boston Bayside. The shuttle from BOS had a short wait and was nice and warm. We were welcomed with cookies on arrival, and the room and bathroom were very clean. No issues at all, and the shuttle back to the airport was easy to arrange.
This has been a terrible traveling experience for me. One thing after another. I recently stayed at this hotel and had one of the worst experiences I have ever had at a hotel. I checked in around 145am and checked out at 5am. Now during my stay my room was freezing cold it stayed 63 degrees the entire time although as soon as I got to my room I set my temperature to 80 degrees for the room. I then put on long pants and a long sleeve shirt and tried to get some rest. I layered up with blankets, even using my plan blanket and still could not really get warm and I was not understanding why until I got up around 430am to catch the shuttle, which also left me at 504am. When I got up and realized the room had not changed temperature and that’s why I had been shivering and couldn’t really get warm all night I turned it off and that’s when I saw that the vent was still blowing out air although I had cut the thermastat off. I took a video and showed the front desk and he basically said there was nothing he could do and I also had been left by the shuttle although when I called the front desk this morning with my complaint they were just now starting the vehicle to get warm and asked me if I was still using the shuttle and I responded yes. I made it to the front desk at 504, mind you I was in room 619. He said he could order me an uber but that was all he could do and at that point I did not accept it ( I had already ordered my own uber) because the shuttle left and I had already froze in my room and no one seemed to care or even try to care. I’ve already reported the issue to Amex as well as I booked through them seeing as you were apart of their hotel collection I expected a better stay and way better customer service. All I wanted was a few hours of rest after dealing with being at the airport all day due to flight cancellations and delaying of my new flights causing me to miss connecting transportation resulting in me booking a room for literally 3 hours just to not get an ounce of sleep and not use the airport shuttle which was the whole reason I booked the hotel!
I booked this hotel super cheap last minute. The room was clean and spacious, the bed is comfortable, and the service is incredible. Naila at the front desk was accommodating and incredibly helpful, the complimentary cookies are fire, and all in all it was a delightful experience.
My favorite place to stay! The staff is amazing! Very friendly yet professional. There’s a bar & food in house. There’s a Starbucks in the lobby as well. The rooms are clean and the beds comfortable. The environment feels safe. Accessible rooms with a seat in the shower, that will also fit a wheelchair. Flexible shower heads so you can sit and clean self well.
