Recent guest reviews paint a mixed picture of the Marriott Quincy Boston, highlighting both positive experiences centered around exceptional service and comfortable rooms, and significant concerns regarding cleanliness, value, and inconsistent service. Notably, the hotel experienced a surge in guests during the FIFA World Cup, leading to operational challenges and impacting guest amenities. Several reviewers mentioned issues with room temperature, cleanliness, and parking costs, while others praised the staff and overall ambiance.
We stay mainly at Marriott's whey we travel, around 20+ nights a year. Honestly, this wasn't the best. Unfortunately, we stayed during the FIFA World Cup, and there were teams rotating out. So for that reason, there was a ton of extra fans outside waiting for their teams, a bunch of security, and extra precautions just to even get to our room. They also closed of the gym daily for the teams. So while paying higher room rates than normal, we had less access to the pool and gym, lots of noise throughout the evening. We also had to give a noise complaint due to people screaming at each other at 2a. The downstairs bar area was nice, they do have a restaurant. But what really pissed us off was that on our floor they had complimentary breakfast and even dinner but never told us! It was slightly tucked away so we missed it the first 2 days or our stay. I happened to find it by accident. And they charge $20 for the worlds saddest parking garage were no cars were actually parked. Seems like an unnecessary high priced parking for a garage with 200 empty spaces. But I guess it is what it is. Not the best Marriott by far in our option.
Very disappointing stay. Paid over $600 for two nights and spent both nights in rooms that would not cool properly. Our original room stayed between 77-80 degrees, and despite maintenance coming twice and assuring us the issue was fixed, the temperature never reached a comfortable level. After multiple trips to the front desk, we were moved to a different room, but the new room also would not cool below approximately 74-75 degrees. The carpet in the new room felt damp, and we even found a clump of very unknown dark hair in the room, which raised concerns about cleanliness. What made the situation even more frustrating was that several of our coworkers staying at the same hotel had no issues and were comfortably keeping their rooms around 68 degrees while staying floors above us. We remained patient, gave the hotel multiple opportunities to correct the problem, and continued to stay because we were traveling for work. Customer service was also kinda disappointing. Most interactions at the front desk felt dismissive rather than helpful, despite our remaining polite throughout the process. While the hotel ultimately provided compensation for one night, it did not feel proportional to the inconvenience of spending two nights in uncomfortably warm rooms after multiple maintenance visits and a room change. Unfortunately, this was not the level of service or comfort I expect when paying this price for a hotel stay.
This used to be my favorite hotel in the Boston area. It has gone way downhill in the last 3 years. The last 3 times I stayed here, the shower heads weren't fully functional. This time, there was no body wash in the shower. The food in the concierge lounge was way too salty and cold. The menu at the restaurant is very limited and not friendly to those who are trying to avoid carbs. The staff is very cordial, but over the last couple years, I've noticed their smiles have pretty much disappeared. That says a lot about the management. Every floor except the first floor has an unpleasant odor in the hallways. This is probably my last time staying here.
We had an incredible time celebrating a wedding at Marriott Boston Quincy. From the moment we arrived, Gianna Zarges (the event manager) and her dedicated team, including Dan, Larry, Garnett, and many others, provided exceptional service. The entire staff, from the serving staff to the drink managers, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. The check-in staff, including Zach and others, were fantastic. They worked diligently to make our check-in process smooth and hassle-free, contributing to the overall memorable experience. The venue and location are perfect for any occasion, whether it’s a large or small event. With multiple event rooms and ample space available, it caters to all needs. The hotel is conveniently located near the highway and is just a short drive from Boston and other metro/suburbs. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, offering stunning views of the city.
Hotel itself was everything you would expect from a Marriott. Room was spacious and clean. Ample parking, although they do charge $20/day to park. Nice to see they had EV charging. Food options are sparse here. There is a hotel bar that serves a few items but it closes early. Also a Starbucks but it also closes early. No coffee available after 1pm. Service also left something to be desired. Staff is not friendly and in no rush to do anything. It’s outside of Boston and less expensive than staying in the city so I guess you get what you pay for. So if you lower your expectations you won’t be disappointed. Just don’t come here expecting a Marriott experience.
The check-in was super smooth. The lobby was very clean. Everybody in the staff was super helpful. Kimi was just the best. Her smile made my night and I will definitely be coming back five stars.
My husband and I recently attended a card show here. When we first arrived, there was a man directing cars to the parking garage with the gates all open stating all cars for the show were to park there and coralling all the cars in. Only thing that was said to us was "anything on the lower levels". Noone handed us a ticket, no-one mentioned a time limit, there were no signs or anything listed. We were there for 3 hours and 10 minutes. When we left, the gates were closed and noone was there, the machine only asked for a ticket or had an option for "lost ticket" which When pressed said the fee was $18. After sitting there for awhile trying to figure out what we were supposed to do, a man with the hotel finally walked over and asked if we were paying with cash. We explained we came for the cardshow and were only coralled into the garage but that noone had mentioned needing a ticket, he said "oh, yeah, someone was supposed to make an announcement in there that the first 3 hours are free and after that its $20." We let him know we got there at 11, so it was literally 10 minutes over the 3 hour mark. He said "yeah, so its $20 bucks or I can give it to you for the lost ticket so $18". We paid just so we could get out, and I said "someone should really go in there and let everyone else know because nothing was said to us or the cars around us" and he just walked away. I went online to see if anything was posted, and was even more livid to see that 3-6 hours was $10, not $20, so we got screwed twice. This was our first and only impression of the hotel, and after this experience I dont forsee us coming back again. The lack of communication and rude parking employee are enough to turn me off of it.
Contrary to recent reviews that concerned us, we found the facility, rooms, front desk and restaurant service to all exceed expectations. It is not an opulent Marriott as some are, but when compared to other hotels in the area, this hotel is much nicer. As Marriott Bonvoy members, upgrades to king corner, upper floor; complimentary breakfast, free parking and wifi removed the a la cart fee issues. We stayed a week while visiting our children attending college in Boston and new grandbaby. There are malls, shopping and good restaurants near. The exercise room is better than most. The pool is clean and heated, but outdoor temperatures of 10 degrees made it a little cool. You can choose this location without concerns. It offers a great value at half the price of downtown options.
Me and my bestie decided to book for NYE to relax swim and just hang . Main booking being there’s a pool , except the pool was FREEZING and had plenty of questionable icks floating around NOT TO TAKE AWAY FROM THE SWEETEST MOST FRIENDLY MAN they had standing at the entrance of the pool (seriously what a doll) . Pretty disappointing , so we figured asked the front desk if they can heat it up (front desk said we will let them know) so we decided to book a second night since the beds really are comfy . Food at the place in the hotel / room service whatever kinda crazy prices but it’s a hotel whatever we just ordered elsewhere . Second day pool still just as cold and ick so ended up in the room the whole day / night . Room was fine , bathroom shower had ZERO and i mean zero water pressure . Not the worst time but for sure wish it had been better . 1000/10 on beds being super comfy ?????
Hotel was very nice and staff was great. However, they were hosting several kids events and it was a zoo. Kids everywhere without parents and they played hockey in the hallways and set off alarms. Absolutely worth staying here but know what they are hosting prior to booking. Lesson learned.
