The Courtyard Boston Downtown offers a central location in Boston, particularly convenient for theatergoers and exploring nearby neighborhoods like Chinatown and Beacon Hill. Recent renovations have resulted in updated rooms and a pleasant ambiance, however, some guests have experienced significant noise issues and concerns regarding room size and cleanliness.

This is by far one of the nicest Courtyard hotels I've stayed at in Marriott's portfolio. This property is historic and has been tastefully renovated, there's a grab & go shop in the lobby with a few pre-made food options, there are microwaves on the guest floors, and the expected amenities in each room. The restaurant on-site serves breakfast buffet food until around 10/11am, and it's your standard Marriott breakfast type food, which is to say it's good! The staff here are excellent, very helpful and accommodating - I very much enjoyed my time here. Nearby is an Orange Line station (Tufts) and you are located a 5 minute walk from the Commons, and across the street from a few theaters for shows happening in Boston - there's plenty here, and you aren't far from anything! An excellent little hotel in Boston.

We stayed a week and it's a great location in Boston. The rooms are a bit small though, no drawers, very little room for wardrobe. Bathroom is ok and the hot water is ample, good shower. Valets don't do much and there's no bellman either. Close to boston common, restaurants, 711, cvs, dunking, beer store is next door. Cute Pocket park down the street.

Had a wonderful stay at this Marriott property during my first visit as a solo traveler to Boston. The hospitality truly stood out from the moment I arrived. A special thank you to Gina at reception for her warm welcome and thoughtful recommendations that made the city feel like a second home. I also really appreciated Gina and her manager Anne for kindly helping me to preserve the flowers I bought as a gift. It was a genuinely thoughtful gesture that reflected the team’s sincere care and utmost hospitality. I’d happily stay here again!

The hotel has a lovely ambiance and the staff were friendly and helpful during my stay. The room was clean and comfortable, but I did find the amenities a bit lacking for the price. Overall, it was a decent experience, just a few areas could use improvement.

Amazing location first off. Right opposite the Wang theater. Close to T stations, easy access to uber rides, and very close to Chinatown. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Our room was clean and spacious. The breakfast at Post 10 was great; lots of options and attentive wait staff. The valet service and check out process was seamless and very fast. Highly recommend.

Tatiana was a gem. This is the only good thing about this hotel. The walls are made of paper. 1st night a couple was fighting and I heard every bit of it. 2nd night a couple overstayed their visit apparently so I had to hear their mess with housekeeping. Im literally laying here on night 5 listening to people arguing and their tv, its probably not even blaring the walls are just 1/2 an inch thick and i catch a flight at 3am. They had construction going on so that woke me up at 7am every morning. Kept calling and complaining but they didn't care. Reception said "oh I didnt know construction was still going on, on the floor" Heard everyone up and down the halls. Can hear the neighbors talking and TV blaring. Can't get any sleep in this place. PAPER THIN WALLS. Here for work so I got no rest and waking up exhausted everyday. I cannot express how annoying it is that I wake up to drilling and hammering at 7 in the morning. You couldn't pay me to stay here again.

This historic property, replete with charm, is ideally situated. It is an eight-minute walk to downtown, a short stroll to Chinatown, and a 10-15 minute walk to Beacon Hill, with the North End accessible within 10-20 minutes. My accommodations, though compact, were impeccably clean and comfortable. The hotel is currently undergoing a significant renovation, with work anticipated to conclude on the 15th floor. I had the opportunity to observe the renovation progress on the 15th floor and was fortunate enough to receive a guided tour. The updated rooms and furnishings are exquisite, and the hallways feature tastefully redesigned wallpaper. The restoration of the original millwork above the elevators, previously concealed by wallpaper, is a particularly commendable detail. The remodeling aesthetic is modern, understated, yet elegant. Our stay at this property was highly satisfactory, and the service provided was exceptional.

Me and my wife went to a comedy show in Boston and were hoping to get a good night sleep- that was definitely not the case. Loud club music until 2am, people running around and yelling in the halls until 4am. We call down to see if there’s anything we can do and they can offer us “earplugs”. We slept worse than when we had our newborn son. Terrible- will never come back.

This property is outdated, with small rooms that have an unpleasant odor. The front desk staff and management were rude and inconsiderate, which made the experience even worse. The location is not ideal, as the surrounding area has a high presence of homeless individuals and numerous bars, creating an unsafe atmosphere. The hallways are lined with cameras, which only reinforces the feeling of insecurity. The management and staff here do not reflect Marriott’s standards and should undergo retraining to ensure proper customer service. Guests are paying for a quality experience, and this property fails to deliver. I strongly recommend that @guestrelations@marriott.com review this establishment and take corrective action, particularly with the front desk team—from managers to check-in representatives—to align with Marriott’s mission: “To enhance the lives of our customers by creating and enabling unsurpassed vacation and leisure experiences.” Unfortunately, I felt completely mistreated during my stay. I do not recommend this hotel. Spend your money elsewhere—at another brand offering better management and newer facilities for the same or even lower price.

Reasonable price but rooms are run down. Our shower was also completely clogged and unusable — within minutes, it was overflowing the pan. Reported the issue but lack of response or support from the hotel. Overall, while the price is good for location, would not recommend.
