Staff let themselves into the room without prior authorization to leave “favors”. It was discovered later items were missing and addressed with the staff. A real Pearl necklace, shoes and expensive perfume were stolen from our room. Do not leave any expensive personal items behind. As I see it, any instance of unauthorized entry into the room then forfeits their ability to say “it wasn’t us” even without tangible proof. Also, the pull out couch was horrendous i don’t know how they even have the nerve to advertise that as a sleeping accommodation, unless u like springs sticking into you while you rest. Stay here at your own risk. 2 stars only because I hear it’s harder for them to remove. 0 stars.

My husband and I stayed here about four years ago and had a phenomenal experience. We couldn’t wait to bring our kids back to let them experience Boston and the Kimpton Marlowe too! Unfortunately, today we had the worst check in experience we’ve had at an IHG ever!! Our flight got in earlier than check-in so we stopped in to just drop off our luggage around noon. That experience went very smoothly. I wish I would’ve had the gentleman‘s name that assisted us with that. He was incredibly friendly and tagged all luggage. Wished us a great day in the city! When we arrived back at the hotel tonight at appx 6 PM it was awful! Again, worst check-in we’ve ever had at a IHG. Sam was the most unfriendly guest services host we’ve ever met. No smile, no greeting about any IHG tier level, zero small talk. I told him that we were checking in now and that we had dropped off luggage earlier, I gave him my ID which he put in and then he requested my husband’s ID instead after confirming his name, (I’ve never had that happen at any IHG prior to this though I’m usually the one checking in??) after my husband ‘checked’ in, Sam asked if he could help with anything else, and we again mentioned that we had dropped off our luggage off this afternoon. When Sam brought our stored luggage out, we told him that a backpack he had included was not ours and that we had a backpack missing…he insisted that a backpack was ours! It was indeed not, and my husband’s was still not included with ours. Again, we had all of our luggage tags! It took another employee going in to find our luggage and still us telling them that a backpack was not ours before they took the one back that did not belong to us! No details were given on Kimpton amenities included. Upon our previous stay here, we knew that kayaks and bikes were available, but no mention of that at all tonight. Sam included only a very brief ‘description’ of a $30 charge that we could possibly use at the restaurant or bar and if we did not use it, we’d still be charged??? I’m still unsure of this? There are no coffee makers included in the rooms. After our last stay, I believe this is included in the morning by the lobby. Again, Sam mentioned nothing of this. After our previous stay I believed that there was also a complementary happy hour included. While our missing luggage was being located, I asked another guest services clerk (who was incredibly friendly). She informed me that there was a happy hour between 5-6. Again, none of this was shared with us upon check-in. There was no luggage rack in our room. We did text questioning that and were told that one should be in the closet. The only thing included in our closet was an ironing board. The text was apologetic and housekeeping brought a luggage rack up! Definitely appreciated! The room is incredibly clean, which really is most important to us! Overall, just a completely different start to our day than what we had four years ago.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was spacious and very clean. Great view. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant has a good selection of food and drinks but it’s on the pricier side. Hotel has parking and they validate the ticket so you can easily go in and out of parking as many times as you need without having to pay extra each time. Overall I highly recommend.

Kimpton is worth staying here. If you're looking for a hotel where the staff genuinely care about guests and go above and beyond to make your stay comfortable, the Kimpton Marlowe is absolutely worth considering. One of the best things about great customer service is seeing people jump in to help others without even being asked. During my recent stay at the Kimpton Marlowe, I saw a housekeeping staff member on the seventh floor quickly help a young mother who was juggling luggage, a stroller, and a child. The staff member immediately noticed she could use a hand and stepped in with both kindness and professionalism. That kind of attentiveness and willingness to help is what really makes hospitality stand out. Small moments like this leave a lasting impression and show a genuine culture of care and service.

I recently stayed at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel in Cambridge, and overall it truly felt like a little oasis. From the moment I walked in, the hotel smelled clean and pleasant, which immediately set the tone for a relaxing stay. As someone staying alone, I also felt very safe and comfortable throughout my stay, which I truly appreciated. The room itself was aesthetically beautiful, very clean, and incredibly comfortable. The bed was amazing, and the bathroom was just as comfortable and well-kept. I also had a really nice view, which made the whole experience feel even more peaceful. The staff were exceptional and accommodating throughout my stay. Irina at guest services was especially wonderful, so friendly, informative, and welcoming. Irina took the time to explain several benefits connected to my credit card, which I really appreciated. Parking was also very convenient. Overnight parking at the garage would have been about $30, but the hotel validated it, so I only ended up paying $4 for my one-night stay, which was great. Another pleasant surprise was the bathroom products. The shampoo and body wash were exquisite. I usually don’t use hotel toiletries because my skin can be sensitive, but the brand they use was a great concoction. I was able to use them without any irritation. The restaurant was another highlight. I had what might honestly be the best Caesar salad I’ve ever had. It was creamy, fresh, and delicious. I paired it with a cocktail called the Ha Cha Cha, which was the perfect complement to the meal. I also ordered their “thick fries,” which definitely lived up to the name. Very thick, very tasty, and served with a delicious harissa aioli sauce that paired perfectly. The restaurant staff were friendly and welcoming as well, and I wish I had gotten all their names. I also ordered breakfast the next morning. My order did come out slightly wrong . I received an extra sandwich that I didn’t order and was initially charged for. However, the staff handled it quickly and professionally. They refunded the extra item and even let me keep the sandwich, which was a kind gesture. The breakfast sandwich itself was really delicious. The only thing I wish the hotel had was room service, which would have made the experience even more relaxing. I did have to go downstairs to sign off on the order, but I understand they were busy. For context, I’m a mom and full-time student who had just finished my finals, and my partner booked this stay for me to rest and recharge. The hotel really provided a beautiful environment for that. My only other small issue was with housekeeping. The hotel offers a generous 4 PM checkout, which I was grateful for. I truly appreciate how eager housekeeping was to keep the space clean and maintained. However, they came to the room about three times while I was sleeping. After the first time I let them know I had late checkout, but they still came in twice more. To be fair, I forgot to put the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door because I was exhausted and assumed the message might have been communicated. As someone who appreciates thoughtful hospitality and small details, this stay really stood out to me. Aside from those small hiccups, everything else about the stay was wonderful. Thank you to the staff for creating such a welcoming environment. I will absolutely be back. I will absolutely be back. And honestly, I wish I had taken more photos of the space but I was truly there to relax and unplug, which I guess is a good sign.

Dog friendly (no pet fee), dog bowl and pet bed was offered to use. Clean rooms, quiet, The hotel charges a $25 destination fee per night and that covers free bike and kayak rentals (first come first served) and a $10 destination credit that can be used in the restaurant. The bed, pillows, and linens were very comfortable. My only critique is the condition of some of the fixtures in my room. The shower temperature control handle was loose, wallpaper seemed to be in poor condition in some spots, and closet door handles weren’t level. Cambridge is convenient to most Boston attractions. If you have a capital one card and book via their portal, you can get additional benefits such as a $50 experience credit to use at the restaurant or other areas of the hotel (can be used for parking too) I parked at a garage nearby (245 1st st) at a rate of ~$17 for 24 hrs Definitely would stay again!

We booked a hotel block for our wedding guests to stay at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel during our wedding last weekend, as well as stayed there ourselves for two nights. Everything was perfect! In the lead-up to our wedding, Haley was always available to answer any questions that we or our guests had. Upon arrival, our guests complimented the rooms, the amenities, and the friendliness of the staff. For our room, hotel staff had provided chairs and mirrors for the hair- and make-up session. After the wedding, they surprised us with a bottle of champagne and strawberries. We highly recommend booking the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel for your wedding. A special thanks to Haley for providing such excellent support!

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at the Kimpton Marlowe Hotel! From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed by the warm and attentive staff. They went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect throughout my visit. I loved the hotel’s stylish, modern design — it felt both elegant and comfortable at the same time. My room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and offered stunning views of the Boston skyline and the Charles River. I especially appreciated the thoughtful touches and amenities that made my stay feel extra special. The location was perfect for me — close to great shopping and dining, and an easy walk into Boston. Everything I needed was right there. I truly enjoyed my experience and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

A perfect Urban hotel features the greatest and most comfortable rooms, professional and accommodating as well as helpful staff and a great location. Make this a perfect Boston area destination. All the staff members at the hotel are very helpful, knowledgeable and professional which makes every small issue easy. The hotel is joined with the Cambridge shopping mall. Just a quick walk through the indoor parking lot which makes the move smooth and easy. Fantastic valet service for a very affordable price and don't miss on the restaurant on the hotel with the perfect bartenders that makes the meal a happy and great one.

I stayed here for a couple of days. Check-in/check-out was quick and the front desk staff were very friendly. The hotel is very nice, clean, quite and looks new. My room was great. Very spacious, very clean, very modern and the bed/bedding was awesome. I slept like a baby. The lobby, lounge areas were great. The onsite restaurant (Bambara) was fantastic. Great staff and very friendly. The food was very good (Smoked St. Lous Ribs). The text messaging service option was great. The staff (Garrett & Michael) replied promptly and offered instant updates on any questions I had. I would definitely book this hotel again on my next visit to Boston/Cambridge.
