Stayed here to visit Boston and the location was fantastic! My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the surrounding area and its artsy and vibrant scene. The coffee shops around are great and it’s conveniently located to public transportation and a target. The pub next door is a fantastic spot to visit if the hotel restaurant is closed. The room was small but extremely clean and comfortable. Hotel is clean and well maintained. Valet was $28 and timely. Would gladly stay here again!

This hotel was only OK. The location is really its saving grace. It is super close to a lot of amazing things (looking at you Phinista). Unfortunately the stay itself was pretty uncomfortable. The rooms are small which is okay in theory, but the bathroom was awful. A barn style sliding door so you have very little privacy, along with the bathroom being incredibly cramped. There is no mini fridge which is really inconvenient if you have drinks, leftovers, or medicine that needs to be cold. Valet parking which costs $28 a day (even though there’s literally no other option), makes it super inconvenient if you need to take your car out multiple times a day. And honestly the worst part was that the room never felt cool enough to me personally. I was hot most of the time. It’s probably because I am from the south and our air-conditioning is top-notch, but if I stayed here again I would have to bring a fan. Beds are very firm so not the most comfortable but you can sleep if exhausted. If none of these things matter to you, it’s a nice place.

This is a really nice hotel! I really enjoyed my stay here. It feels fancy for the price - I believe it’s one of the less expensive hotels in the area. Nice shower in the bathroom, nice big bed, nice rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would definitely stay here again or recommend it to anyone who needs a hotel in Cambridge.

A very nice hotel close to the metro station. Travel by metro to downtown Boston is 20 minutes. There is a shopping area close to the hotel. The rooms are well prepared and clean.

I stayed at this hotel during my trip for the Boston Marathon, and overall, it proved to be a practical and comfortable choice for a race weekend. One of its strongest advantages is the location. Being situated close to a train line made getting around the city simple and efficient, an especially valuable feature when navigating Boston during a major event. Accessibility like this can make or break a stay, and here it definitely works in the hotel’s favor. The room itself was clean and well maintained upon arrival, which set a positive tone. Housekeeping operates on request rather than as a default service, which may catch some guests off guard. That said, it’s a minor adjustment as long as you’re aware and plan accordingly. I appreciated the in room amenities complimentary water, tea, and coffee are thoughtful touches that are becoming increasingly rare, particularly at this price point. Additional conveniences, such as access to hot and cold water in the basement and a small computer area for guest use, add a layer of practicality that frequent travelers will value. This isn’t a luxury stay, but it doesn’t try to be. Instead, it delivers where it counts: cleanliness, functionality, and a few well considered extras. For marathon runners or visitors looking for a straightforward, reliable base in Boston, this hotel is a solid option worth considering.

I really enjoyed my stay at Porter Square Hotel. This was my first time visiting Boston. The check in process was quick. The front desk person David was friendly and very helpful. This is a small hotel but very clean and well put together. The rooms are not huge but it was just enough room. It offers a nice area in the basement to get ice, coffee and tea. There is also two computer stations, a sitting area and bathrooms available. There is an attached restaurant which I didnt visit. This hotel only offers valet parking at $28/day which is much cheaper than anywhere else in Boston. The valet were prompt when I requested my car. This is a great area for exploring or catching the train which is within one block. There are several coffee shops, grocery store, Target, and a wide variety of restaurants in this area. I really enjoyed my stay and will reserve again when I visit Boston. Perfect hotel for small parties and solo travelers.

Unfortunately I can't recommend this hotel, they block lots of perfectly normal network traffic (VPNs like Wireguard, Mullvad, Tailscale, iOS private relay, etc) and SSH/git. There's no good reason to do this. Obviously I can tether to my phone, that's not the point. I will update this review if this changes, but I don't expect front desk people to be able to resolve a complicated networking issue like this so I'm leaving this here in case anyone is looking for a place to stay and expects to get work done.

Stayed for two nights while visiting my partner in Cambridge. Hotel offered everything I needed. Great room, good ambiance, great views and spacious for two people

Unfortunately, I had a bad experience. I booked this hotel for one week and faced many issues with the internet. It is very restricted and does not allow VPN connections, which was a major problem for me. Additionally, the staff were not friendly at all, they seemed uninterested, showed zero empathy, and did not try to help. Because of these issues, I had to cancel my stay.
