The Hyatt Regency Boston / Cambridge offers a generally pleasant experience with highlights including excellent breakfast, friendly staff, and convenient location near business and cultural sites. However, concerns regarding hidden fees, construction noise, and shuttle reliability impact the overall stay.
I recently stayed at the Hyatt Regency Boston/Cambridge and had a very pleasant experience overall. The room was comfortable and well?appointed, though it did show a bit of wear and tear in places. Nothing major, but noticeable enough to keep it from feeling completely fresh. The real standout of the stay was the breakfast. You can genuinely taste the freshness of the ingredients, and the quality sets it apart from typical hotel offerings. It became something I looked forward to each morning. Staff members were consistently polite, attentive, and warm, which added to the positive atmosphere throughout the hotel. A solid four?star stay, and I’d happily return—especially for that breakfast.
Decent rooms but probably wouldn’t stay here again. Given a room right outside a noisy elevator, manger reassigned us and offered to comp our breakfast the next morning. Front desk had no record of same. Also, front desk person insisted on charging for the room even though it was prepaid on Hotels.com and we showed her a record of same. We had to get another manager to resolve this. Restaurant food was fair at best.
Great layout for a convention. The open atrium and flow from conference rooms means you encounter people frequently. The staff was friendly, views were great, room was comfy, parking was easy. The hotel was also much better at accommodating the needs of our convention than the previous hotel.
The rooms are kinda small and they add $20/day as mandatory fee. The parking is outrageously expansive like a typical downtown hotel but you can park on street for free from 06:00 PM to 08:00 AM, plus another 2 Hrs @ $2/hr. Otherwise it's a great place with courteous staff. I also tried their omlette brekfast and found it to be delicious. All benefits of Explorist status were honoured and they upgraded me to a room with balcony view, which I enjoyed a lot.
Always a treat for us here: exceptional views, exceptional shuttle, AND exceptional front desk service. We've come to expect their comfortable beds and tasty restaurants but their consistenly friendly and accommodating staff never cease to amaze me. Please go elsewhere.
Unfortunately there is a construction and all river view rooms will hear non-stop noise from cars going over steel sheets put on the road of a 100 yard long. During night, this is an issue too even with little traffic. Beside this, self parking is great however at some night it’s difficult to find free spot on lower levels (due to events and non hotel guests park there) Rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast was decent. Staff are kind. And location is near major business and cultural sites. I couldn’t sleep due the 24 hours frequent noise that’s why I gave 4 stars (deluxe river view king). Also, had some issues with self parking during cold days and not finding free spots easily.
This Hyatt is very close to MIT, which is a huge advantage and honestly, probably its only real advantage. The hotel is quite old, though the rooms are reasonably spacious. Maintenance is just average, but at least everything feels clean. If you have the option, definitely choose a room with a balcony. it makes the experience much better.
A couples vacation that turned into a proposal!!!! This is a very lovely hotel! Right in the center of Cambridge and MIT. Walkability is iffy, but transport is available. A parking garage is also on site for a large fee. We had a king room on the 5th floor with a river view. It was an absolutely gorgous room, clean, stocked, and such a gorgous view! The staff are VERY friendly and helpful and The Paperback restaurant on the 2nd floor has some great dinner and drink options!! Definitely recommend staying here for a special getaway!
My experience was top notch. I celebrated my birthday here with my husband and I had such a wonderful time. I was greeted by Michael Young at the front desk and he was exceptional! He was very helpful, had a wonderful attitude and did everything he could to make us feel comfortable. The best customer service I’ve had in a long while. We were seated at the hotel restaurant Paperback Tavern and the decor was refined, classy and clean. We were greeted by our server Patty who I must say was very attentive and made our dinner experience flow wonderfully, she even sang Happy Birthday to me which was very nice of her to do. The food came out fast and was fresh, delicious, and to our liking, compliments to the chef. All in all I had a wonderful time here and will definitely be back soon. Thank you Michael, Patty, chefs and the staff at the Paperback Tavern & Hyatt Regency Hotel!
We stayed here for our wedding weekend, and the staff went above and beyond to make it special. Everyone was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even showing us the best spots for photos. Kyle was amazing. She reserved the courtyard for our first look and even paused two elevators for 10 minutes so we could get the perfect shots. The water view was an added bonus. Overall, a 10/10 experience!
