Recent guests praise the Hyatt Regency Boston for its exceptional staff, excellent location, and modern amenities, yet they criticize outdated technology in rooms and excessive destination/parking fees that diminish the value proposition.

I rarely leave reviews, but this stay had a mix of good and frustrating experiences. To start with the positives: the staff were genuinely nice and helpful. The room was clean and spacious, the bathroom was very clean as well, and the shower had great water pressure. That said, several things about the stay felt outdated or unnecessarily expensive. The TV in the room felt like something straight out of 2001. No Netflix, no casting, and no ability to log into any streaming apps—just the old-school on-demand system. For a hotel charging premium Boston prices in 2026, that’s pretty disappointing. Then there’s the so-called “destination fee.” They try to make it sound like it adds value, but when you actually read the perks it’s basically things nobody asked for—like a $2 discount on a trolley ticket, newspapers in the lobby, or a magnet souvenir. They even list “premium WiFi” as a benefit… which raises the question: why am I paying extra for WiFi in 2026? That should simply be included in the room. Parking was another headache. If you self-park, there are no in-and-out privileges, which means every time you leave and come back you have to pay $41 again, even though you’re a guest staying at the hotel. It feels like another way to squeeze more money out of guests. What also rubbed me the wrong way was the sign in the bathroom warning that if you remove the shampoo bottle you’ll be charged $60. The tone makes it feel like the hotel assumes guests are there to steal toiletries, which isn’t exactly the welcoming hospitality vibe you’d expect. Overall, the staff and cleanliness were great, but the outdated room features and all the extra fees made the experience feel like constant nickel-and-diming.

Great location. Great gym. Rooms were just fine. But let's face it, the resort fee or destination fee of $35 per day (we paid $105 for three days), if a full blown trashy scam. No, I don't need to do any laundry. I don't need a newspaper. I don't need a BOWL OF SOUP. Be better Hyatt Regency....

There is no vent in the bathroom. I called the front desk. She told me it’s a quiet vent then later nothing changed and I called again. Another front desk told me if there is no noise there’s no vent. Hey offered to send someone to spray the bathroom while we are half dressed. Can’t believe the first front desk lady just straight lie to me. also it’s a suite on Valentine’s Day. It’s just like a hyatt house room without the kitchen. They have a big balcony, but it’s covered in snow. Can’t sit in the chair or even go in the balcony ?? no flower or anything offered in a valentines suite. Very Expensive parking and breakfast. ? booked under my fiancé name.

Great area, fairly nice room. I did, however, think it was strange to have a 7 foot tall man drool on me in the shower. My fiancée explained that it wasnt actually a man, it was, in fact, a low-flow shower head. It did successfully rinse off a single crumb of dirt so there's that I guess.

This is a really great hotel that has excellent amenities. There's a bar and restaurant, and a 24 hour fitness center. I loved the pool, and best of all, sauna in the locker rooms. The hotel is also ideally located and I could walk to the places I wanted to visit, the commons, TD Garden, etc.. I also thought the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The bathrooms probably could use an update, with the shower at least. Very good hotel and experience, I'll likely return next time I'm in town.

This was a very nice hotel. The room was clean and updated and it had many amenities, including a pool, fitness center, and restaurant. What we liked the most was its central location in Boston. It was only a few hundred feet from the ballet, the Brattle Bookshop, the Freedom Trail, and the golden Cain's, and only a five minute walk to the Boston Common. If you want to be close to lots of popular things to do in the city, this is a good place to stay. One note, if you want to save money on parking, you can park yourself in the parking garage instead of using the valet parking the hotel offers. The parking garage is attached to the hotel, so it's not much more work, and the self-serve parking is $41/day as opposed to the valet parking, which is $65/day. We enjoyed our stay at the Hyatt and would definitely stay again!

We stayed for 10 nights and had a truly wonderful experience. The room was very spacious and comfortable, which made a big difference for a longer stay with more luggage than usual. The location is excellent, very convenient for walking and easily accessible to all parts of the city. From the front desk to housekeeping and the concierge team, everyone was consistently warm, professional, and helpful. Special thanks to Tamika and Kunika at the front desk, they were incredibly kind, patient, and thoughtful. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel.

We had an excellent experience at Hyatt Regency Boston. From the moment we arrived, everything was very well planned and thoughtfully executed. We received a nice room upgrade, which made our stay even more comfortable. Traveling with kids, we were especially impressed by the thoughtful gifts for the children—a small touch that made a big difference and showed genuine care for families. The staff were welcoming, organized, and attentive throughout our stay. Overall, this was a smooth, enjoyable, and memorable experience. We truly appreciated the attention to detail and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommended.

We had a great stay at the Hyatt Regency in Boston! They delivered on service, cleanliness and location! We were there for our daughter's birthday trip and they made it special for her. We received an upgrade on our room (which was ready for early check-in) and also had a gift and dessert waiting for her in the room! We loved the location, which walkable to so many locations. What a great place to stay!

Fantastic 3 night stay this past weekend. Everything you could ever imagine is no more than a 10 minute walk away and you're also close to the T at Downtown Crossing. Kendall at check in, and Billy at the bar were the real stars, offering top notch professional service with a smile. The kids loved the pool, and my son enjoyed the indoor putting green. The buffet breakfast was amazing as well and beds were super comfortable. Well done Hyatt, we'll be returning.
