The Boston Marriott Copley Place receives generally positive reviews, highlighting its prime location connected to the Prudential Center and excellent service. However, concerns regarding room size, inconsistent amenities (like a heated pool), and occasional staff issues, including property theft and misrepresented room features, have been raised. Recent reviews emphasize the value proposition due to its convenience and included amenities like access to the M Club.
2 stars because my Chick fil A delivery got stolen, I was expecting more security coming from an excellent hotel (I'm suspecting the guard ate it tho). The room was excellent, with amazing window view. I liked the mall too and the fact that I could walk to chick fil A to pick up my order(because you can't trust anyone nowadays). Also I asked to see the cameras to the security guard and he told me I couldn't which is why I suspect he was the one who ate and left no wrapper or crumbs, and not to be fatphobic but he had the kind of built that tells you gluttony is the only sin keeping him away from the angels. I left Boston not only hungry for Chick fil A but for justice.
Great hotel. Rooms were a good size and very comfortable.. I did ask Marriott head office if there was a sauna in the health centre and they confirmed there was one. Alas that was not true. The customer service team did not offer me any form off compensation, I only asked for a meal voucher and they said that they could not provide and I was to ask at the front desk. It was there mistake not the hotel team. The service from the hotel team was excellent and they did everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant.
This hotel is in a fantastic location, just steps from Trinity Church, the Public Library, and within easy reach of Boston Common. There’s a supermarket (Star Market) right in front of the hotel, and a small commercial center nearby, making it convenient for shopping or grabbing essentials. The river is also close, so MIT is easily accessible on the other side. The hotel itself is very comfortable, with a restaurant and plenty of services. They even provide a microwave if you want to warm up food. The bathroom was a highlight very spacious, making morning showers a pleasure. Rooms come with coffee machines and a fridge large enough to store food or drinks. The views from our room were excellent, overlooking the Public Library and Trinity Church. Overall, a very convenient and well-equipped place to stay.
What an amazing property! This is my favorite Marriott on the East Coast. The amazing lounge and the credit used at Yard House daily basically give you three solid free meals a day when you factor in the lounge. The gym is large, and the rooms are clean with high-tech smart TVs. You really don't have to leave the hotel, and even if you do, multiple malls and everything needed are within a 5-minute walk.
As a naturally anxious traveler, I called the hotel the day before my stay with a list of questions, wondering if I’d picked the right place. From the get-go, Desi at the front desk put me at ease. She answered everything with patience and warmth—never once making me feel like a bother, even though I was probably a bit much. When I arrived, that sense of welcome continued. Julia greeted me with genuine kindness and such an easy, friendly manner that checking in started to feel less like a chore and more like catching up with an old friend. Because Desi had made a note in my reservation, Julia let her know I’d arrived, and she even came over to say hello—which honestly meant a lot. Both women seemed genuinely happy to see me, even remembering our phone call and wishing me a safe journey. Later, when I noticed my refrigerator wasn’t working, I called down to the desk and someone came up almost immediately. Miguel showed up with such a considerate attitude, double-checking not just that the fridge was fixed but also if I needed anything else—towels, extra amenities, you name it. It was above-and-beyond service, the kind you rarely encounter. On top of the standout hospitality, the hotel itself was spotless and surprisingly peaceful—even though it was a sold-out weekend and the lobby was bustling. Plus, the elevators were speedy, which ended up being a major perk. All in all, every single staff member made my stay feel special, relaxed, and genuinely cared for. The next time I’m in Boston, I already know where I’ll be staying.
The hotel staff at Marriott Copley Place stole my personal property. I left something in the safe after checkout, and when I called for it to be returned, they told me they didn't find anything after opening the LOCKED safe. Why would I lock the safe without putting anything in it? Also the front desk attendant was very shady. Upon check-in, she changed my double to a single without telling me. I had to call down and change my room. Also, this same attendant helped me with my lost item and told me it wasn't found without going through the proper protocols. I would avoid staying here.
We've stay at this hotel a few times a year, sometimes 1 night and sometimes 2 nights. This is my favorite hotel in the Back bay area and here are the top reasons I enjoy staying here. The hotel itself is pretty big and can get busy and crowded in the lobby, especially at check in times on weekends. However, it is very clean and modern. Check in can take some time but never took us more than 15 minutes. Valet parking can be tricky at times as well because the front of the hotel gets so backed up with cars sometimes. Once you get through that you will find the elevators very efficient with many fast elevators available to use (although you do not select which one). Staff is professional and courteous, but overly friendly, which is okay with me. The room is well appointed. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean and modern. The room size was decent and the refrigerator in the room was pretty useful. Windows do not open but the room was not stuffy, and even smelled fresh. The real beauty of this hotel is the location. Not only is it in a prime location 2 blocks from The Christian Science Center and 3 blocks from Newbury Street. And there are a plethora of eateries and cafes everywhere in between! But the real convenience of this hotel is that it is attached to the Prudential Center complex, which is a pretty vast network of connecting hotels, 2 shopping malls, a convention center, and a bunch of eateries all located indoors. I use this connecting network of buildings to escape the cold in the winter and inclement weather in the summer whenever I can for at least part of the way if possible. There's even a Starbucks on the second floor next to the pedestrian bridge that leads to Prudential Center. We love this hotel, but it does get very expensive during peak times, and when there are events in the surrounding Boston area. However, between the quality of the hotel itself and the convenience of it's location, we find it is worth it! Keep up the good work Marriott! We'll be back soon.
Dinner | $20–30 Absolutely no complaints with this hotel. Best place we have ever stayed. This was our first trip to Boston and also our 39th anniversary trip. Ashley Wright, our concierge, was so sweet and absolutely awesome. She sent us up a gift basket while we were out one evening and on our last night, she sent us a bottle of Champaign. The food was phenomenal at Yardhouse and everyone was so friendly. We will definitely be back. Shout out to Jay in security, he was very helpful and friendly.
My recent stay at the Boston Marriott Copley Place was an absolute delight, offering all the upscale amenities you’d expect from a top-tier hotel in the heart of Boston. The location is unbeatable, connected to the Copley Place shopping center, making it easy to explore the city without stepping far. One highlight was their room service partnership with Yard House—delicious pub-style meals delivered right to your door, which made for a cozy night in. Sure, they forgot the utensils on my order once, but a quick call to the front desk had it sorted in minutes, and the food was fantastic regardless. The facilities are impressive: a refreshing pool for unwinding after a day out, a great gym equipped with everything you need for a solid workout, and even a Starbucks right inside for that morning caffeine fix. It’s all designed for comfort and convenience. Prices are on the expensive side, and parking adds up at $25 a day or $50 overnight per night, so this isn’t the spot if you’re pinching pennies. But if you’re looking for a premium experience with excellent service and prime location, it’s totally worth it. I’ll definitely be back—five stars!
It was a little pricey for me, i got a room that was cheaper and it had a whole kitchen, livi g roo. Separate bdrm huge bathroom the other night so i dont feel like it was the best price for the standard room i got but i guess the location is why the price is higher. It was a great place, location, and everything else i just wish i got more for my money thats all. I still love this place Marriott never dissapoints me. I love how your so close to everything all the stores are so easy to get to everything is pretty much connected. If you need to take the train, back bay is right there too. They have the beautiful churches to see the library in copley sq. Shops, restaurants, bars, green line orange line. Everything you need all conveniently in that area, walking distance to everything...
