The Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston offers a prime location in downtown Boston, consistently praised for its convenience to attractions and the T-line. While generally positive, reviews highlight concerns about room size and some operational issues.
This hotel has a great location. Easy to use Spot Hero parking across the street. Reserve ahead. Lots of welcoming perks. Free beer or glass of wine in bar on arrival. On certain nights - music and a free beer in lobby. Walking distance to almost everywhere. Rooms are not huge - lobby and welcoming staff make up for it! As my husband said “they did nothing wrong in my book - great place”.
Fantastic hotel! Clean, comfy bed, excellent staff. I read the reviews on the smaller king rooms and they seemed too small so I booked the king deluxe room. The shower had great water pressure and the room was clean. David, Julia, and Jameisha deserve a shout out! David helped me with a late checkout because the airline delayed my flight. I was there Feb 12-14 2026. There's multiple subway locations very close to the hotel. Walking distance to plenty of stores and restaurants. It took about 25 minutes from the airport on a quick shuttle bus ride to the subway station that brought me less than a block from the hotel for $2.90. The subways are nothing like NYC and were fast and clean. Cheaper and faster than an Uber. Jameisha recommended Legal seafoods to eat at. WOW was that worth it! Lukes Lobster was also excellent. The dinning at the hotel was also fantastic! I travel a lot and this place is it.
Centric embodies the word for the location down the street from MBTA orange line back entrance STATE st stop up the block from HAYMARKET. Central to FANUIEL hall. DOWNTOWN Boston and others. On premises restaurant is priced for tourists over charge for simple fare. i.e. 15 dollars for three pancakes. When it comes to the rooms. All I can say is welcome to your Tiny Home Bedroom. No desk, you will need to go downstairs or work off the tray table. More than two people in the room. You will be nose to nose. Standard size hotel furniture in a tiny space. Perks as much free Poland spring water as you want. Stay here if your company is paying. Because for what you get. The price is way way too high. I am a fan of the Hyatt brand but this property only gets aces for location and helpful staff. Otherwise it's a no return in my book.
Excellent in every way! Amazing location central to all the restaurants, bakeries, shops, and museums plus literally steps from the T-line, which connects directly to the airport. I have never had such friendly, high level customer service from a chain hotel, from early check in to late check out to offering me use of the staff microwave to taking photos of our group dressed up. Every single staff member I encountered was a pleasure to speak to. Comfortable bedding, dark room, little touches like conditioner and toiletry kits. Nice workout facility in the basement. I will not hesitate to stay here again when visiting Boston.
Just got back home from a wonderful 3 night stay at this location. My Deluxe room was spacious, clean, safe, and well maintained. The location was perfectly located near 2 major T stations and surrounded by many notable landmarks. My only critique in my stay is that my room was not ready during my check-in time, which made me a bit anxious (just a personal thing). However, I did appreciate being able to leave my luggage at the hotel (with an excellent system in place!) and move on with my itinerary that first day. I would not hesitate to stay here again when I return to Boston. Kudos to the team at this facility.
Smaller Hyatt for business travel. Room layout varies. A bit noisy at night from utility trucks outside. Comfortable bed. Clean and modern bathroom. Shower pressure is weak and water temperature was too hot. Location is convenient, but tucked on less crowded side streets. Short walk to restaurants but super close to subway station.
We booked this hotel based on the location. It is even more convenient to everything we wanted to do than I thought. Had a feeling the rooms were on the small side, which they are, but there were drawers available, places to hang clothes, and not a deal breaker. Bed, pillows, shower was great. Lots of places to eat in the area and talked to David at the front desk and he provided great recommendations for us a couple different nights. My son had the "best pasta of his life!" at the North End restaurant he recommended. Would stay here again for sure!
We really enjoyed our stay here as a family. Just a heads-up for anyone traveling with little ones who are particular about bath time – the rooms only have showers, no tubs (which was fine for us, but good to know). The staff was friendly every day, and the lobby felt cozy and welcoming. They do use a Scentsy-style fragrance in the lobby, which was a bit strong for us, but totally tolerable in small doses. We also loved the live guitarist/singer on Thursday night – such a nice touch and definitely worth mentioning!
We booked one of the block of rooms for a recent wedding. Our room was so small you couldn't even fit a shoe horn in it. Room description indicates at least 215 sq feet, which is probably generous. I think Revenue discovered a utility closet and decided to make a room of it. Shower was in our room - not even behind closed doors. My wife and I had to take turns navigating the room. Others in the wedding complained about the same thing. If you have to book a room here be sure to upgrade. Though no fault of the hotel the noise in this part of town in untenable, especially the trash trucks in the alley in the middle of the night.
I stayed at the Hyatt Centric Faneuil Hall Boston for a work meeting, and I have to admit, the location is fantastic. It is right in the heart of the city, surrounded by incredible restaurants, historic charm, and an energy that makes you want to explore. I took the bus and train from the airport and arrived in less than 30 minutes to the hotel. The front desk staff was super nice, and I really appreciated the assistance with my bags. The rooms are perfect for work or vacation. I liked the lighting, the large TV, the bathroom amenities, and the big windows that opened for fresh air. In the middle of my stay, I realized how quiet and comfortable the hotel feels, which is rare for such a central location. The gym had everything I needed, and there is even a small store for sundries. The breakfast was good, and I had the breakfast burrito. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
