The Boston Marriott Burlington offers a generally comfortable stay with convenient location and decent amenities, but experiences vary considerably. Recent reviews highlight issues with malfunctioning room features, concerning bar staff behavior, and difficulties with room temperature control, alongside positive feedback regarding service and breakfast. Recent incidents suggest potential reliability issues need attention.

I recently stayed at the Boston Marriott Burlington during the first week of December 2025 and overall had a mixed experience. The room itself was fine, the bed was comfortable, and there was plenty of parking available. I also enjoyed the morning buffet—the service was attentive and the food was good. However, I encountered a serious issue with the glass door leading to the bathroom. The door malfunctioned and came off the railing whereby I ended up getting stuck inside for about an hour. I didn’t have my phone with me, so I had to rely on my own strength to maneuver the door enough to get out. This situation could have been hazardous for a female guest, an elderly person, or anyone without the physical ability to force the door open. I reported the issue to the front desk, and the door was repaired by the time I returned later that evening. However. they didn’t offer anything else for my inconvenience. Regardless, this type of door should be regularly inspected to prevent incidents like this. Because of the safety concern, I felt it was necessary to give a lower rating despite the otherwise decent stay. This could have turned into a much bigger problem, and I hope the hotel takes steps to ensure no other guest has a similar experience.

Large, comfortable rooms that stayed warm despite the cold weather outside. Friendly service. Surrounded by loads of restaurants and shopping. Note - you have to hold your room key card up against the sensor to unlock the door.

I stayed at the Boston Marriott Burlington from Dec 29-Jan 2 and it was a great experience. I'm a Bonvoy member and the team treated me with care and kindness throughout my stay. Special shout outs to Peter, Lauren, Diane, and Billy for their excellent service and attention to detail. The restaurant breakfast was delicious (and with strong coffee!), and I loved the freshly baked cookies that are in the lobby every afternoon for a sweet treat. Bartenders were polite and engaging, even during the New Years Eve rush. The gym was clean and well outfitted for both cardio and strength workouts. It's a short drive into Boston or a nearby T stop if you prefer to take public transit into the city. And the proximity to 93/95 is super helpful for shopping or other excursions up to the North Shore.

Overall disappointing for a Marriott. During my stay I could hear the hockey team (they block several rooms each year) going through the halls and slamming the doors hard that it shakes the room. Normally not a big deal if its during the day, but they did this from 10pm until 1:30am. When i expressed this to the receptionists they said “yeah what are you going to do. Sorry to hear you had a bad night. There are a lot of them”. If they want to keep the hockey player business, thats fine, but i will not be returning if thats how they handle the rest of the customers.

Room was clean and too dark but because I reserved by the conference website and it had a discount they gave me a room in the basement. The location was far from the city. The wifi was awful and every time I asked them they didn’t solve my problem. Services was good but the reception staff was not accountable.

I had an extremely uncomfortable experience at the bar at the Marriott in Burlington, MA following a private event held at the hotel. After our party ended, a group of us went to sit at the bar shortly before last call. It was clear the bartender, Chelsea, was irritated that guests were arriving so close to closing, which already set an unwelcoming tone. What crossed the line was that Chelsea repeatedly came over to me to tell me to cover up or adjust my dress. My dress was a spaghetti strap style and slightly low cut, but it was not inappropriate, revealing, or in violation of any reasonable dress code. Each time she approached me, my outfit was completely unchanged and appropriate for a hotel bar setting. It felt targeted, embarrassing, and unnecessary. To make matters worse, Chelsea and another customer appeared personally offended by my outfit and treated it as if it were a problem they needed to correct. This was incredibly uncomfortable and inappropriate. No one should be singled out or policed for their clothing in that manner. When we brought this issue to restaurant management, the response was disappointing. The restaurant manager, Alex, did not apologize for the bartender’s behavior and instead repeatedly stated that another customer was uncomfortable with my outfit and that this justified confronting me. He claimed this was their policy, which is frankly shocking. A hotel bar allowing staff to repeatedly confront guests about their clothing based on another patron’s discomfort is unacceptable. I do want to note that the hotel manager, Rich, was helpful and friendly when we spoke with him, which I appreciated. Unfortunately, that did not change how disrespected and embarrassed I felt overall. This experience was not aligned with the level of professionalism or hospitality I expect from a Marriott property. I would strongly caution others, especially women, about visiting this bar if this is how guests are treated.

Disappointing stay. My room was cold, and the heater did not work. I checked in on Wednesday and could not get the room above 65°. The next morning, I spoke with a friendly front desk associate who offered a room change. I should have taken it, but instead I asked if someone could take a look at the heater. That night, the same issue occurred—this time the unit was blowing ice-cold air, so I turned it off completely. On Friday morning, I mentioned the issue again. That evening, I found a handwritten note from the technician stating that there is a sensor in the room that shuts off the heat if it doesn’t detect motion. That was surprising; I travel frequently and have never experienced that before. Then on Saturday morning, I woke up to a cold shower. Overall, a disappointing stay. During checkout, the front desk staff didn’t ask how my stay was, so I brought up the issues. They replied that they had already heard about the heating problem. I asked for the GM’s email, but they provided the front desk manager’s card instead. At that point, I simply wanted to ensure they were aware of the problems so the heater could be repaired for the next guest. ---

Too small and dark, the smallest king bed I have ever seen, and too soft. Unfortunately, I was not able to sleep very well. The room and bathroom had insufficient light and no fridge, which is unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. Sorry, but I'm being honest. I didn't like it, but the staff was very kind.

I'd probably give this place a 4 if that gross couch hadn't bugged me. Everything else seemed clean, like the bed and tables, but when I moved a pillow on the couch, it was covered in what looked like toenails, food crumbs, and hair. The late-night lounge had plenty of water, but the hot food was a letdown, and the power went out during a game, which was weird. Not sure why, but it came back on in 10 minutes, thankfully. The staff was nice, and I was happy to see an omelet station for breakfast. The bed was comfy, but the gym was super basic for a Marriott. Also the shower door doesn't stay shut it rolls back consistently.

Welcome to Europe! Air conditioning in the rooms only allowed via motion detectors. Great if you’re on the top floor (9) in the summer ?????????????????????????. Elevators don’t work. Absolute shambles. People who worked there were very nice however. Easy parking, but they’ll have a gate up and charge $20 a night very soon.
