The Wyndham Boston Beacon Hill offers a convenient location near Mass General Hospital and offers a good value for travelers, particularly those visiting the hospital or exploring downtown Boston. While guests appreciate the friendly staff and proximity to amenities, concerns regarding room maintenance, inconsistent information, and a lack of amenities like working vending machines and complimentary breakfast are frequently cited.

I read all the negative reviews. I was skeptical too, but took the chance. I am so glad I did. I found it very nice. The service was outstanding. Especially Tee. The rooms weren’t the taj mahal but nice enough. The location could not be better. Close to the Train and six minutes away from the hospital. I was there for a follow up.

This is a great hotel for short stay. The entire staff from the bellman, front desk, restaurant all provided excellent customer service. The rooms were clean, bathroom was clean. I only gave it 4-stars because there were some cracks in the ceiling that were a little concerning and the elevator floor in the back didn't feel safe. Overall it's a great place to stay.

Regarding my stay at your hotel last night (Friday into Saturday). I booked the reservation almost a month in advance and confirmed it again yesterday morning. Between booking and check-in, I received multiple messages about policies and general stay information, but at no point was I directly informed of a scheduled power outage. After checking in yesterday afternoon, nothing was mentioned at the front desk. It wasn’t until we were already in the elevator that we noticed a sign stating the hotel would have no power today from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, which coincides with checkout time. Our room also did not receive any written notice under the door, though we later learned some rooms did. As a result, this morning we had no lights, no TV, no way to charge our phones, no room phone, no hot water for showering, and no elevator access. We were staying on the 12th floor and had to walk down 12 flights of stairs using our phone flashlights. The stairwell exit led directly outside, requiring us to walk around the building to re-enter in order to check out. Had we been notified in advance — via email, message, or even verbally at check-in — we may have chosen to cancel and book elsewhere. This information could have been communicated at any point in the month leading up to our stay or at check-in, and the lack of direct notice made the situation both inconvenient and frustrating. Given the circumstances, I believe some form of compensation is warranted. I’d appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing how this can be resolved.

If You enjoy the feeling of sleeping on a bed of rocks than this is the place for You. If not please lodge elsewhere. Also the staff they have for over night valet takes home guests car keys. At least they did with ours. We found this out the next morning when we called for the car. We waited about half an hour and only found out this happened when we went to ask what the delay was. After everything was resolved, another member of staff tried to lie to us about what happened. The restaurant was good and the housekeeping staff was friendly but as for the rest I would never stay here again.

We stayed in January 2026 and room AC/heater was very noisy and not always effective at heating up the room. Room decor and furnishing were a bit worn and broadly in line with a three star hotel. Service was ok and cleaning and technician (who came up to check the heater) were effective and friendly. Front desk was fine too. Location is not far from train station MGH. Rates were ok for what it is but dealing with heater was not worth it.

Perfect for us! We rented a room next to MGH because our daughter in law was in labor. We originally booked 2 nights and we're able to extend day to day until our beautiful Daisy was born, 5 total nights over NYE! We got to know the staff and they were awesome! So friendly and warm and so happy and excited for us! They made our experience of becoming grandparents even more meaningful! Thank you all!

Stayed here a couple of times, It’s not the best but it’s good enough the area is nice and convenient There is a bakery, cvs, and Whole Foods right around which convenient. The rooms are quite old but they’re big which is fine. Cleanliness needs a bit of work. On another note, I requested the room to be cleaned once during my week long stay, the cleaning staff left my room door open. I don’t know for how long.. my room could have been left open all day? thankfully it’s safe enough that nothing was taken from my room.. I called them to report it they said a manager will contact me, you guessed it no one ever did? Didn’t make a big deal of it as I was checking out in 2 days.

Room was reasonably spacious and in our case we also got a bath, which was very welcome given the New England weather. All the staff were professional and welcoming. Location was great, the surrounding area being very nice and only a short walk to central Boston and key historic sites. Would certainly stay again.

This hotel is good value for downtown Boston, especially if you're not parking a car (all hotels downtown, including this one, charge for parking). The location is convenient and the rooms are sufficiently tidy and updated. I don't understand the very negative reviews. This hotel is a typical three-star hotel. Admittedly, the bed wasn't very comfortable and it is strange that the most basic rooms (standard double) don't have a fridge. Once I saw that in the reviews, I called ahead and asked about it and the front desk upgraded us (for free) to an executive double room that has a fridge. So I have no complaints! I had a pleasant stay with my family and we would stay here again.

Cons: Inconsistent information when checking in for hospital rate. Told 3 different things from 3 different people. Got it fixed finally when asked for Manager. Tv not connected to cable, not sure if that on purpose or broken. Tub facet almost came out of wall when turned it on. Needs repairs and staff training. Pros: Sheets were clean, bed fairly comfortable. Room seemed clean (except for carpeting that needs replacing). Restaurant food good and priced reasonably for area.
