The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Boston - Cambridge receives mixed reviews, with many guests praising the friendly staff, particularly within the Fusion Lounge, and comfortable rooms. However, location concerns related to highway access and limited public transportation are frequently noted, alongside issues with inconsistent shuttle service and occasional front desk staff unhelpfulness. Cleanliness is generally good, but some guests have experienced issues with amenities and potential theft.
The biggest mark against this hotel is the loaction, for how close it is to everything the actual location, surrounded by highways and streets makes it a veritable island with limited access to everything. Very little access to public transportation and not a lot within walking distance either. Albeit we were visiting during winter and bad weather, but this only served to make the limited access even more apparent. None of the HD channels function on tge tv, which leaves about 4 stations if you're stuck in the hotel. There is an attached parking garage for convenience. Staff is friendly, rooms are decent and well cleaned. However I won't be staying here again
Front desk to housekeeping have been so friendly, professional, and welcoming. Even in room dining server was so upbeat and personable! Rooms smell simply amazing, so fresh. Very well appointed and nicely designed. Views on riverside are very nice. Parking has been easy, digital key access would be better! Excellent place, good location!!! But come for such an amazing staff and experience!
Overall, a good experience for a DoubleTree. Room that I stayed in seemed to be updated and clean. On-site restaurants were both good and had friendly service. Parking garage could have used some additional salt and snow removal after winter weather.
We always have a wonderful experience here. The location may not seem ideal, but they have a shuttle which has multiple convenient destinations like the aquarium, copley square, and Harvard square. All service was impeccable, the shuttle driver Al especially. He was extremely kind and patient with us. That really helps with some of the stressful moments kids bring.
I've stayed at this DoubleTree for approximately a month and a half (across 4-5 different stays) over the past year due to its close proximity to Harvard. PLUSES: The ABSOLUTE best part of this hotel is the staff in the restaurants and bars. My FAVORITE person is DELMY in the Fusion Lounge. She makes great drinks, is super personable, and always remembers me and other returning guests. Check out Over the Charles in the summer too—great views and karaoke on some nights! The free shuttle to campus is great, but it doesn't always run. The staff may help you find a ride, but they are not very forthcoming with assistance. Once they got me a cab but other times they shrug and say "sorry, it's not running" and look away. But when it's running, it's SUPER convenient to get to Harvard Square and other parts of Cambridge. MINUSES: The staff at the front desk is a little gruff and stand-offish, which is a little off-putting. They don't offer much information, even when asked. Don't use the hot tub by the pool. The tile grout is in disrepair, which leaves a gritty layer of broken stone on the bottom of the floor and seats. So, not the most comfortable. I do return cause the views are lovely and all of the staff at Fusion Lounge and in Boathouse 400 (the breakfast/brunch restaurant) are super lovely!
This is such a nice property. The rooms are clean amd modern. Ms. Sonal was amazing! She is a great Rep for the Brand. Love her energy and her knowledge of the Brand. If you're in Boston/Cambridge needs a nice hotel, the Doubletree by Hilton is the way to go. You wont regret it!
The staff and rooms were quite nice, but I had booked this location for the amenities including the hot tube, location, and extra “ all you can eat buffet.” I was pretty disappointed in these aspects as there was no buffet, but just a meal voucher. The hot tub was par regarding temperature and comfort. And it was a bit scary getting out of the hotel as it is a really busy road.
I stayed at this hotel for two days last week and had an amazing experience. I especially want to praise the breakfast. In fact, it was my first time having such a great breakfast experience in the US. Everything was delicious. By the way, I was wondering what brand of pure milk they use. It was so rich, sweet and flavorful. I'd like to know the brand so I can buy some extra. Thank you so much!
I had a truly wonderful stay at Doubletree by Hilton Boston! From the moment I arrived, everything was smooth, clean, and welcoming. The highlight of my stay was the exceptional service from the front desk staff, especially Hanna—she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. Whether it was answering questions about the area, helping with my check-in, or simply being friendly and professional, she made a big difference in my experience. The room was spotless and well-appointed, and the location was perfect for everything I wanted to do. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for great service and a relaxing stay.
Disappointed - Items Stolen from Room I'm writing this review with great disappointment about our recent stay. While at the hotel, my daughter had gone shopping with friends and waited in line at a trendy store in the rain to purchase items. When we returned to our room after being out for the day, we discovered that her shopping bag with the new purchases was missing. When we contacted housekeeping about the missing items, we were told they "only threw away trash." This response was unacceptable, as the shopping bag clearly contained new merchandise, not garbage. The fact that items went missing from our room during housekeeping service is deeply concerning and suggests either theft or gross negligence. My daughter was heartbroken to lose the items she had worked so hard to get, and we feel violated that our personal belongings were not safe in our hotel room. This experience has completely overshadowed what should have been a pleasant stay. I would not recommend this hotel to other travelers, as you cannot trust that your belongings will be secure in your room. Hotel management needs to address this serious issue with their housekeeping staff immediately.
