The Revere Hotel Boston Common receives mixed reviews, with many praising its location, comfortable rooms, and friendly staff. However, significant concerns have been raised regarding room temperature control, hot water availability, and inconsistent service. While some guests highlight the hotel’s ambiance and value, recurring issues with room maintenance and staff responsiveness detract from the overall experience.
This place is absolutely stunning! I got a skyline view room. The balconies open and it is breathtaking. Literally kinda scary how up you are LOL. But absolutely beautiful!! Memorable for sure and romantic!
My husband and I stayed at the Revere for one night. The hotel was located near nice restaurants, a CVS, and the Wilbur theater, which was the reason for our Boston trip (a show at the Wilbur). Our room was very big and seemed comfortable till we realized that the temperature in the room was 75 degrees. We shut the heat off because it seemed very stuffy in the room. We then left to our show and when we got back to our room, it was 80 degrees with the heater off. We had to open the sliding door to let cold air in. Then we went to shower and there was NO HOT WATER! At 2:30am We called the front desk and they didn’t answer, so we took very short cold showers. Throughout the night we couldn’t sleep because it was still 80 degrees in the room. In the morning we also noticed water on the floor near the toilet bowl and noticed the bowl was cracked. We got frustrated with the lack of sleep due to it being too hot in the room, so we just got up to try and shower again. We wanted to hurry up and checkout because we were so frustrated with our stay but there was no HOT water AGAIN! Upon check out I complained about our issues and the front desk lady said our room was supposed to be maintenanced and had a ticket to be serviced! I asked why did they put us in that room if it had issues. She didn’t know why and only offered to deduct the hotel fees! Our goal was to have a relaxing weekend and unfortunately we ended up losing sleep and couldn’t take a full showers! I was not well and therefore the reason for review! Never again!
evere Hotel Boston Common is a great option for the price and location. You really can’t beat staying this close to the Common with nice city views for under $200 a night. The hotel does feel a little outdated in some areas, but it’s still nice enough to enjoy. The rooms are comfortable, and having a balcony is definitely a big plus. One downside was the thermostat it wouldn’t go below 70, so the room felt warmer than I prefer. The shower also took about five minutes to actually get hot; at first I thought something was broken, but it eventually warmed up. The staff was super friendly and polite, which made the stay better overall. The parking lot could use some resurfacing, and the elevators have a dim, motel-style feel that doesn’t really match the rest of the hotel. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. For the price and location, it’s hard to beat I just wish they would address some of the visual and maintenance details.
I stayed here on New Year’s Eve with a few friends, and the experience was nothing short of amazing. The hotel is beautiful, spotless, and incredibly welcoming. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, but Brian at the front desk truly stood out. He made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived, warm, accommodating, and attentive to all of our needs. He took the time to ensure we were well taken care of, which made a fantastic first impression of the Revere Hotel. We will definitely be returning!
We stayed three nights between Christmas and New Year’s. We hadn’t planned on eating so many meals at Revere Guild but it always just worked! Breakfast before heading out to explore, wine and apps at our return and later for dessert! It was always wonderful with friendly accommodating service. Shout out to Glen!
We had a great experience staying here for my friend’s birthday. This hotel is a lovely place to relax, enjoy drinks, and take in the beautiful atmosphere. The décor is tasteful and inviting. Our room was spacious and very clean. We stayed on the 15th floor and had a nice view of Boston from the balcony. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay.
The revere is a great place for Boston adventures! Clean room, comfortable beds, and friendly helpful staff. Even the elevators are impressive! The REVERE gets 5 stars. The restaurant is a completely different story. Let’s just say there’s plenty of amazing restaurants in Boston, but I would get food at 7-11 before eating there again.
We have to thank Thomas and the AMAZING crew at the Revere!!! They helped make our LOVE GET AWAY be one of the best times EVER!! With the prime location, amazing little details, and excellent service, we truly enjoyed our stay. The only thing missing was a fridge in the room, but with so many food options around it wasn't a major issue.
Where to even begin!? We stayed here for my husbands birthday! They asked what occasion we were staying for and after telling them it was his birthday they so nicely gave us two free drinks from the bar! The bar is STUNNING! Such a good place to grab a drink before heading out! We didnt get a chance to try the restaurant but we will be back to do so! The room was perfectly clean! I planned a fun filled night of about five stops to bars and restaurants and everything was right around it! The next morning feeling a little under the weather from the five bar stops haha my husband asked them for a late check out! They gave us two extra hours no charge for his birthday! THEN I instacarted Tylenol to the hotel because I felt like death and they so kindly brought it up to me! We also got room service breakfast which you have till 2am to hang the menu with your choices on your door. Everything came hot! We can not wait to come back, they really made my husbands birthday special!
We stayed at the Revere for 2 nights on Halloween weekend. I've stayed before, and recall much nicer service. Check in was friendly, no problems. I had requested a room with a bathtub. I was told the room we were given had one. Our first room had a balcony that was open (love that) though there were largely rips in the curtain. It did not have a bathtub, but no sooner did I notice than they called us, apologized, and switched rooms without having to ask. The front desk manager met us at the elevator so we didn't have to go back down. The new room had a deep bathtub, no torn curtains, but no access to the balcony (bummer, but not a deal breaker). We had an overall uneventful and pleasant stay. I would have given higher reviews for service, but when I called to have some glasses brought up to the room, they never came, and I had to go to the front desk to ask, and they referred me to their restaurant a floor above where I had to wait for someone to notice me at the bar. Aside from that, the bathtub had a hard time holding water and drained while using it. The location is amazing, right in the theater district and very close to Chinatown (walking distance). The bed was also very comfortable (just slightly on the firm side, but still a bit plush). While I wouldn't NOT stay here, I don't think it met my expectations of a $400/night room.
