Five stars in every way. I won't stay anywhere else in Boston. The location, the service, the rooms, the water views, and the rooftop bar can't be beat. Walking distance to great lobster rolls at James Hook and walking distance to all the Italian restaurants in the North End. As for service - Chris at the front desk made my stay seamless! He was friendly and highly efficient. I highly recommend the Envoy for anyone visiting Boston. It's an experience.

We had a great stay at the Envoy Hotel, and I especially want to recognize Donnovan at the front desk. Our luggage didn’t arrive, and we needed a late checkout so we could wait to pick it up from Logan Airport. Donnovan was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and kind during what could have been a really stressful situation. He made the process seamless and treated us with genuine care and professionalism. Customer service like his truly makes a difference. Thank you, Donnovan, for going above and beyond!

Great location, next to Barking Crab and the federal courthouse. Very comfortable beds, almost the same as the Bellagio in Vegas. Plus rain shower, Toto toilet and nice-scented body lotion. Wonderful breakfast at the on-site restaurant Para Maria; the hotel gives guests $15 credit for the day. Finally, plenty of lighting in the room.

The hotel was very chic and modern. I stayed in a room overlooking the water that had a pretty nice view. Beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, the amenities listed on the website don't match what is a available at the hotel. I asked about the ICA tickets and was told that they hadn't done that in a while. Additionally, although Marriott members were listed as having additional bonuses, they weren't available. Also, room service was a struggle. We requested ice and coffee a few times during our stay, it got lost and required multiple calls to the desk each time.

My new favorite place in Seaport Boston. Prefect location with easy access to both seaport and downtown attractions. Service was amazing. Room was perfect and design was so fun and unique. Will definitely stay again in the future.

Edited 11.20.2025: I emailed the GM Chris and received a sincere apology along with generous compensation. He addressed every concern I raised in detail and assured me that he will personally review the overnight staffing expectation. I also learned that ICA tickets are still available year-round, and the team will be trained to strengthen front desk communication and elite recognition protocols. For guests who would like to explore and see the rooftop view, team members would be able to bring you up. I’m genuinely glad to see the hotel has such a responsible and attentive GM. I will return to give it another chance on my next trip to Boston and look forward to seeing the improvements. Original 11.18.2025: This was by far the worst Marriott experience I’ve ever had. Everything from service to room quality fell far below what a four-star Marriott property should deliver. For a hotel marketed as a boutique property with great views, it felt more like a two-star motel. I arrived around noon and was told my room was not ready, which was fine, and I stored my luggage. But when I returned to the hotel at 2 AM, the so-called “staffed front desk” was completely unattended. I was left waiting outside in 37°F weather for over 10 minutes before someone finally appeared to let me in — and when they did, their attitude made me feel like I wasn’t welcome there at all. As a Platinum Elite member, not a single benefit was acknowledged. No one explained the destination fee inclusions, and the elite benefits—stated on the Marriott website at booking—were simply not provided: ~Bicycle rentals or two tickets to the Institute of Contemporary Art ~Platinum welcome gift (Food & Beverage offering) ~Elite amenity included in the destination fee (daily chocolates, truffles, or macarons) The lobby’s lemon-infused water hadn’t been replaced and tasted very bitter. The room itself was even more disappointing: ~Non-insulated walls that echo like an office ~Extremely poor exterior soundproofing — I could hear cars roaring at 3 AM ~HVAC was extremely loud and disruptive throughout the night ~Desk outlet made noticeable electrical buzzing sounds, making it unsafe to use ~No mini bar in the room despite the hotel positioning itself as a 4-star property ~Outdated wall switches with visible gaps Additionally, for a hotel located next to the pier — where views are supposed to be its main selling point — the rooftop restaurant with the best views is closed every Monday and Tuesday, which greatly diminishes the experience for guests staying early in the week. The positives are the location and the stylish lobby, in-room shower fixtures are nice and the staff and bellman working during the day are more attentive. I have stayed at many Marriott properties, and this is the first time I felt compelled to write such a detailed review at 2:30 AM because the experience was that unpleasant. I will not be returning.

Lookout Rooftop in Boston offers one of the most magical experiences in the city. With a stunning view of the illuminated skyline and cozy winter igloos, the atmosphere is perfect for a romantic dinner or a special night out with someone you love. The ambiance is warm and intimate, the staff is friendly, and every detail is thoughtfully arranged. It’s an ideal spot to enjoy Boston from a completely new perspective.

My worst Autograph Collection stay to date. - The room was extremely noisy. On Friday night the trash company was dumping dumpsters from the hotel and surrounding restaurants at 2am for 20 min, and the windows have no sound proofing. On Sunday morning, this started again at 7am. Super bummed to be immediately woken up both times - Housekeeping opened my door before 9am. I was naked in the shower and would not expect to need to turn on my privacy light before 10am - When I checked in with 2 bags, and two large cardboard boxes for a work event, not one of the 3 people at the front desk offered to help me get into the door. After checking in, I loaded up my stuff onto a luggage cart, and tried to wheel my way into the elevator with a large box, clearly struggling to make it through the closing elevator doors. Still no offer of help. Younger blond manager just standing there watching… kind of absurd. I will say that the other manager on other nights was lovely.

Nice view. Poor lighting at floor length mirror and throughout room. No magnifying mirror in bathroom so can't see to apply makeup. We brought it to the attention of the staff and someone said they thought they could get us a mirror but we never heard from them. There WAS a nice mirror with great lighting where the closet is but when you hang all the clothes in the closet you can't see anything! Must have been designed by a man lol. Need a shelf in lavatory...institution like. Breakfast was excellent and we liked the coffee all day in the lobby and the nice citrus water. Martin was incredible and so helpful in getting us moved into our room, helping with the luggage from the car. Staff was kind and helpful for the most part. Great location.

We reserved a room block and hosted a welcome party at The Envoy for our wedding weekend and, unfortunately, our experience did not meet expectations and were underwhelming. The Suite designated for our wedding day photographs had not been properly cleaned, and despite requests from bride/ groom for assistance for a simple wipe down, there was no follow-through. In addition, there was a strong and unpleasant odor in the room that lingered on our belongings even after checkout. We later learned that several of our guests experienced similar issues. For such an important occasion, the level of service was disappointing. Do not expect anything special for your wedding. The location was redeeming.
