The Dagny Boston receives mixed reviews, with many praising its central location, historic charm, and friendly staff. However, several guests have reported issues with communication regarding dining credits, inaccurate billing, and inconsistent service quality. While some experiences were positive, including prompt resolutions to problems, others were frustrating due to slow responses and a lack of accountability from hotel management.
Update: After several attempts to contact the hotel regarding the confusion surrounding the destination fee and dining credits, management/accounting finally responded and worked with me toward a fair resolution. They acknowledged the miscommunication during check-in and issued a refund to address the issue, which I do appreciate. I still believe the situation could have been handled more efficiently from the beginning, particularly regarding communication and follow-up, but I also think it’s important to acknowledge when a business ultimately takes steps to make things right. Aside from this issue, the stay itself was very enjoyable. The hotel was in a great central location, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the staff throughout the property were friendly and helpful during our stay. While the post-stay experience was frustrating at first, I appreciate that the hotel eventually took accountability and resolved the matter professionally. Overall, our stay at the hotel was very nice — the location was central and convenient, the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and most of the staff we interacted with were pleasant and helpful. Unfortunately, the experience after checkout completely changed my opinion of the hotel. At check-in, we were assisted by two front desk trainees with a supervisor overseeing them. During the process, the male trainee clearly explained that the hotel charges a daily destination fee, but that guests receive a $30 per day dining credit that would automatically apply when dining at any of the hotel restaurants and charging it to the room. Based on that information, we dined at the hotel restaurant the first two nights of our four-night stay. After checkout, I reviewed the folio emailed to me and noticed none of the credits had been applied. I emailed accounting using the instructions provided and received no response for over 48 hours, despite being told responses are typically within 24 hours. I then called the hotel directly. Instead of resolving the issue, I was told by a concierge that the credit was actually only $10 per day and did not apply to the first night. When I explained that this was not what we were told during check-in, he insisted that the employee “would not have said that,” which was frustrating and dismissive considering we were checked in by trainees being supervised. I know exactly what was explained to us. The hotel offered only a $10 courtesy credit for the inconvenience, which did not address the issue at all. I requested to speak with someone from accounting, was transferred to voicemail, left a message, and still have not received any response by phone or email. I normally would not leave a negative review, especially because the stay itself was enjoyable. However, the lack of communication, accountability, and follow-up after multiple attempts to resolve this directly with the hotel has been extremely disappointing. My hope is that this review encourages someone from management or accounting to finally reach out so we can properly discuss and resolve the issue.
We had a fantastic stay at The Dagny with our family. One of the biggest reasons we chose it was the location, and it did not disappoint. We parked the car when we arrived and were able to walk almost everywhere we wanted to go, including the Greenway, Faneuil Hall, Quincy Market, and the Boston Children’s Museum. What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every person we interacted with was genuinely friendly and helpful, especially at the front desk. They were welcoming from the moment we checked in, happy to answer questions, and made us feel like valued guests rather than just another reservation. The valet and parking experience was also top-notch, which can make a huge difference when staying in Boston. It was seamless and took a lot of the stress out of navigating the city with kids. The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, and we loved the historic character of the hotel. We’d absolutely stay here again and would recommend it to families looking for a walkable Boston hotel with exceptional service.
We had a wonderful 3-night stay at The Dagny Hotel in Boston. The location was perfect — we were able to walk to so many restaurants, shops, and attractions, and the hotel was only about 15 minutes from the airport, which made traveling very convenient. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly greeted by Lotfi, who truly helped make our stay memorable. He kindly upgraded us to a spacious room on the 15th floor, which we greatly appreciated. The room was spotless, beautifully maintained, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. We also loved being able to check in early and appreciated the thoughtful text message asking if we needed anything during our stay — such great customer service. Another highlight was the spacious, well-equipped gym, which we used every morning. Overall, an excellent experience with outstanding hospitality. We would absolutely stay here again when visiting Boston!
The Dagny in Boston is phenomenal Katie was a huge help in helping me check in and gave wonderful recommendations and upgrades accordingly. We had free early check in! And literally she was so kind and personable. This hotel is so worth it for anyone wishing to book very chic there’s a fridge lots of space in the room. Best location to everything in boston
I enjoyed my stay at the Dagny in Boston. Checking in and out was easy. The room was very clean and comfortable- I loved how the shower had a detachable shower head- something almost unheard of. I was able to not ruin my hair. The hotel was close to everything in Boston- I felt safe as a solo traveler no matter what time it was. The staff was very kind as well- greeting me and engaging with me throughout my stay. Thank you so much for making my first trip to Boston a wonderful experience!
I can't say enough good things! The hotel is incredibly stunning in its Art Deco decor and historical beauty, gving all the Great Gatsby feels. The unique room keys are such a cute touch. Everything was so incredibly clean and well maintained. I loved the in-room nespresso machine, such a nice touch. One of the best things about the impeccable hospitality was the 2 free bottles of water stocked each day as well as the water bottle filling station. It's the little things that are huge when you are traveling! The fitness center was so comprehensive and the two onsite restraunts were excellent. The location was also just perfect.. close to the Long Wharf, a T stop, and so many great resturants. Every staff member was so warm and welcoming. 10/10!!!
My wife and I stayed here for our 20th and will be staying again. It’s a great location to walk to virtually anywhere. Service was top notch. We had a minor issue with our room and was more than accommodating for it. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotels coffee bar and restaurant had incredible drinks, food and atmosphere. We can’t praise the staff enough. We absolutely loved our stay.
My stay at The Dagny Boston was absolutely amazing. From the moment I walked in, the energy felt elevated but still so warm and welcoming. The rooms are beautifully designed. Modern, clean, and super comfortable. I loved how central the location is; it made exploring Boston effortless. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect, which really made the experience feel luxe and personal. Between the aesthetic interiors and the overall vibe, it’s such a perfect stay for a Boston getaway. Can’t wait to come back!
Wow, what a find. Changed hotels last minute for a winter trip because the prices were plummeting. So glad we did. The Dagny is about as good as it gets. Super hip property. Dig the art deco vibe. Got upgraded by Dina at check-in to an amazing room on the 13th floor. Turns out it faced the harbor and had the best view you could get. We never saw anyone on our floor aside from the super fast, friendly and efficient housekeeping staff. We never had to wait for a elevator, kinda unique in a bit city. All the staff we interacted with were friendly and professional. Room was great. Very clean, no damage or funk. Very large and tastefully appointed. One of the nicest rooms I've stayed in anywhere in the US. Bed was so-so, and a bigger fridge would be nice for left overs late night snacks. The onsite restaurant is outstanding. Seriously the best spot in the area. Roasted chicken and chowder are epic, service is solid and the atmosphere is perfect. One of the best meals we had on our trip. Room credit worked fine for coffee in the morning at the coffee shop behind the check in desks. They had a lot of nice looking pastries if you're into that sort of thing, too. So glad we found the The Dagny. I would not hesitate to stay again, and book the King Premier room outright. Totally worth it.
My favorite hotel to stay at when I’m in the city! PERFECT location. Only a 5-10 minute walk to popular attractions like Fanueil Hall, Aquarium, and Children’s Museum. The rooms are spacious, beautiful, and modern with lots of thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home. The staff are 10/10 overly accommodating and friendly. Plus it’s steps from my favorite restaurant, THE PALM! Book your stay at The Dagny and treat yourself to a nice dinner at The Palm, you’ll thank me later.
