This hotel was at a great location with many restaurants and places to visit near by , the room was clean and bed was super comfy. Staff was nice and very helpful . The only drawback were the highways next to it , even with the noice machine you could still hear the cars and trucks passing by so make sure you use your ear plugs to get a good night sleep.

I have stayed in countless hotels over the years, and this was easily one of the worst experiences I have ever had. After my Delta flight was canceled, I booked a room at AC Hotel Boston Downtown for over $430 for a single night. After dealing with hours of travel disruption, I arrived exhausted, stressed, and desperately in need of rest. I wasn’t asking for anything special. I simply wanted a quiet room where I could sleep. Instead, I was assigned a small, noisy corner room. When I politely requested a quieter room, I was told to drag all of my luggage back downstairs. When I returned to the front desk, the employee showed absolutely no sense of hospitality. She simply stared at me while I explained my situation again. There was no apology, no empathy, and no effort to make a tired guest feel welcome. I clearly explained that I only wanted a quiet room because I was exhausted from a canceled flight. Somehow, the solution was to move me into an outdated accessible room and repeatedly emphasize that it was “far from the elevator.” At that point I was too tired to continue arguing. The room itself was unacceptable. The facilities were old and poorly maintained. The shower and faucet system barely functioned correctly. No matter how the controls were adjusted, water came out of multiple outlets at the same time. For a property charging more than $430 per night, this was embarrassing. What happened the next morning was even worse. At around 9 AM, a staff member knocked on my door and then opened it almost immediately before I had any chance to respond. I was literally startled awake by a stranger entering my room. Any hotel employee should know that guests deserve basic privacy and a reasonable amount of time to answer the door. But that wasn’t the end of it. Over the next thirty minutes, my room was disturbed FOUR MORE TIMES. Every time I managed to fall back asleep, someone knocked again. Eventually, confused and frustrated, I opened the door and asked what was going on. The answer was unbelievable. They told me they were trying to see whether I had checked out. Checkout is at 12:00 PM. It was not even close to checkout time. So after entering my room without waiting for a response, they then proceeded to repeatedly knock on my door throughout the morning simply to see if I had left. When I asked why hotel staff kept disturbing paying guests hours before checkout, nobody could provide an explanation. I was met with silence. By that point, it genuinely felt as though I was being treated like an inconvenience rather than a guest. I booked this hotel because I needed a place to recover from a canceled flight. Instead, I received cold and indifferent service, a poorly maintained room, an invasion of privacy, and repeated interruptions that made it impossible to rest. For over $430 a night, this level of treatment is not merely disappointing—it is unacceptable. I left feeling exhausted, frustrated, and honestly questioning why I was treated so poorly throughout my entire stay. Whatever the reason, no guest should be made to feel unwelcome, ignored, and repeatedly disturbed the way I was here. Avoid this property if you value basic customer service, privacy, and the ability to get a good night’s sleep.

I recently stayed at the AC Hotel by Marriott Boston Downtown for three nights, and as a loyal Marriott customer, we chose this property based on my previously positive experiences with the brand. However, my visit was marred by several issues that could have been easily avoided with better communication. First, I was not informed that the hotel cleans the rooms every other day. This detail would have been quite useful when booking or checking in, as it could have set clearer expectations. On the second day of my stay, I left my room early at 6:30 AM and removed the “Do Not Disturb” sign, hoping that housekeeping would service my room. Unfortunately, upon returning at 7:30 PM, I found it had still not been cleaned. I immediately went to the front desk to voice my concern, only to be told that housekeeping had already left for the day. As a compromise, I requested some washcloths and towels. After waiting in my room for over an hour without any arrival, I attempted to call the front desk, but received no answer. Frustrated, I returned to the lobby to ask for the towels again, and this time decided to wait there for their arrival. After about another seven minutes, the requested items finally arrived. While it may seem that my request for towels and washcloths was a simple one, it appeared that the staff member struggled to meet this need. In summary, while I appreciate the amenities and overall atmosphere of the AC Marriott Boston Downtown, better communication regarding housekeeping policies and more responsive service would greatly enhance the guest experience.

I’d like to break down why, overall, I scored the hotel so low. First I think I really would’ve given this place a straight 5 off aesthetics and energy alone. Very modern, almost too modern lol, but I love the look. Lobby looks immaculate, with a nice bar right there. Breakfast/restaurant just down the hall from there. Excellent fitness space, though a little lacking, very well maintained and updated equipment. Rooms are wonderful, cozy but still a large feel if that makes sense. I’d say they’re the perfect size for me. Not quite a suite but definitely more to offer than just a desk and bed. I love the closet layout and the fridges are incredibly nice and roomy. Still a mini but spacious. The bed is heavenly. Pillows are perfect (not too hard not too soft) and they’re huge. It’s like sleeping among the textbook definition of comfort. Location is give a 2.5-3 cause man it depends which way you go. Everything North is historical and the architecture is marvelous. South… well don’t go south if you don’t wanna see people down on their luck slap boxing in the street or defecating on the sidewalk… I speak from experience. Service is giving a 1. I got into town after a 12.5hr driver and settled in immediately. I was greeted by the person at the counter, very polite albeit soft spoken. And after check in I was off to my room to crash. I wake up the next day, and go down to my car. It was towed. Now, when I parked I looked around for signs and didn’t see any. Well I saw one across the street but nothing near where I parked on the corner directly across from the hotel in the shared interior parking space for the complex. No signs. None. I walk down about 8 spaces and bam. There it is. All black so not visible at night. Now here’s the thing, I’m not blaming the hotel for not seeing the sign. I’m mad because, generally, whenever I roll into town they always ask if I drove and tell me where to park. In fact I literally told this person I just got off the road from a long drive and they didn’t say I had to move or use valet or anything. So $170 and 2 miles of walking I get my car back and ask the valet where I park. Thank goodness he gave me all the rates… I let the manager know while replying to their text about my stay and all I got was a “sorry we’ll coach them”. No extension of courtesy. Not a complimentary PB & J or breakfast for a day. Just a too bad so sad. My company recommends Marriott a lot, in fact they partner with them globally for our stays and encourage us to pick Marriott properties when available. This visit was not a good representation of the brand at all. So I cut my visit short, and left because honestly it just left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope they do better. Honestly I just hope they care enough to try at all.

I stayed at the AC Boston for just one night when I was in town for work. I always enjoy staying at ACs and this one was no different. Great vibes, comfortable room, lots of food/beverage options. But what really stood out to me happened after I checked out. I had some issues with my receipt from my initial deposit for my stay. The charge was on my corporate card so you know it was really important to have an accurate receipt. (This obviously was not this particular locations fault, I booked through the Bonvoy app). Anyway, Gavin was the one who picked up my phone call and stayed on the phone with me, did all sorts of troubleshooting and problem-solving until he was able to find what I needed. (mind you, he’s been the fourth person I talked to across the last week trying to find this receipt) He was so patient, so kind so committed to getting my problem solved. I’m so grateful that I just had to come and make a post. Shout out to you, Gavin. I really appreciate you.

The room was quiet since it was not facing the highway, and it was clean and well maintained. However, the service from the front desk staff and the employees assisting with breakfast was poor. I stayed for three nights, and it was consistently like that throughout my stay. Although the hotel is located right next to a major road, the overall location itself is not bad.

? Review: AC Hotel Boston Downtown ? Rating: ?????½ (3.5/5) I recently stayed at the AC Hotel Boston Downtown. The hotel has a modern, clean design and is located in a convenient area close to restaurants and Boston’s main attractions. The lobby and common areas feel stylish and comfortable, and the staff were friendly and welcoming throughout my stay. My room was clean and comfortable, with a nice layout and a very cozy bed. It was a relaxing place to come back to after exploring the city. However, the view from my room was not great, which was a bit disappointing — especially considering the beautiful city surroundings. It didn’t take away from the comfort of the stay, but it is something the hotel could improve or be more clear about when assigning rooms. The gym was clean but could use a little more equipment, although it worked fine for a short stay. Overall, it’s a good hotel with a modern vibe, helpful staff, and a convenient location. I would stay again, but I would request a better room view next time.

We stayed here in August of this year and will not be returning. Our first night was sleepless because the A/C in our room wasn’t working. When we asked the front desk to move us, they offered a box fan instead. The A/C wasn’t fixed until midday the following day—by which point we were already halfway through our stay. Later that same day, the hotel conducted fire alarm testing for the entire afternoon because the contractor arrived late. It was incredibly disruptive and frustrating. The hotel’s name is also misleading; it’s not actually in downtown Boston. It’s closer to the South End, near the Ink Block apartment complex. In fact, the hotel was previously called AC Ink Block but was renamed, likely because the original name caused confusion. We were compensated by the General Manager, and both he and the Front Desk Manager were very pleasant to work with. Still, I won’t be returning. As a Platinum Elite member who stays at Marriott properties frequently, I’ve never had an experience this disappointing. I’d recommend looking at the Marriott Long Wharf instead.

First off, I usually don't leave bad reviews. All hotels have their shortcomings in one way or another. But this was is running a scam. They charge you $25/day but give you a $25 credit to spend on-site. The girl at check-in didn't tell us it expired each day. We lost $25 on our first night. We discovered this on our 2nd night. We also discovered their bar was closed so we had to buy snacks and drinks...which of course were absurdly marked up. That is my biggest complaint. In my opinion it is a straight up scam. Since I'm leaving a review I should mention that our central air system made grinding sounds each time it started and stopped which led to a bad night of sleep. As a first time Boston visitor, we discovered the location is not ideal as it's a 30+ minute walk to any attractions. This is in hindsight and more my fault as I should have done more research. But be aware of it. A hotel running a scam and a bad location will definitely keep me from coming back to this hotel at least, and maybe Marriott in general if this widespread practice.

I have had a horrible experience at this hotel. I came down for the weekend and 1. The hotel is so dark there is practically like no lights. 2. I had to call to get sheets for the pull out bed, the sheets were not in the room. 3. I was told that the bar would be open at 5 instead I got informed the bartender quit! And that they said they would call us when the bar was going to be open. Last the front desk service was stressful. They gave bad attitude and seemed very stressed. Over all the hotel seemed nice but short staffed and un organized. NOT worth the money!
