Hotel Commonwealth consistently receives high praise for its exceptional service, particularly from the front desk staff like Nick and Jeff, who are described as friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Guests frequently highlight the hotel’s prime location near Fenway Park and other attractions, clean and comfortable rooms, and thoughtful amenities. While some have noted minor issues like outdated furniture in certain rooms or inconsistent breakfast quality, the overall experience is overwhelmingly positive.
This was our first time staying at Hotel Commonwealth and what an unbelievable experience from arrival to departure and everything in between. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted by one of the friendliest doormen you will ever meet. He was so pleasant and welcoming, you knew the service here was going to be tremendous. Steve assisted with our luggage and then showed us to the lobby for us to check in. This was another great experience for us. We walked up to front desk and were immediately greeted by one of the nicest gentleman you will ever come across. His name was Nick and his energy and personality did not disappoint. The check in process was smooth and very quick. The rooms are wonderful and this may be one of the cleanest hotels I have ever stayed in. There is always someone cleaning, and you can see it in every area of the hotel. Thank you to the entire staff for an unbelievable experience. We will be back!!! If you are in Boston, this should be the only place you stay.
First off the staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The location is absolutely fantastic if you are looking to check out Fenway or head shopping down on Newbury St or Prudential. I was here for work at a conference and surprisingly lots of space and the food was amazing for hotel catering. 5 stars for the food and chef. The room I was in (3rd Floor) was ok, nothing special. It was some what facing the MassPike which does cause some noise.
I recently stayed at Hotel Commonwealth and I can honestly say it is by far one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed at. From the moment we walked in, everything felt elegant, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. The rooms were absolutely stunning — spacious, spotless, and so comfortable. I especially loved the little touches that made our stay feel extra special, like the reusable water bottles they give out to guests. It’s such a thoughtful and eco-friendly perk! The free snacks during check-in were another pleasant surprise and such a warm way to welcome guests after traveling. Every detail felt intentional, and the overall experience was truly top-tier. We will absolutely be back — this hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. Highly recommend!
Staff is amazing. The hotel is in a great location near Fenway Park and House of Blues, to name a few. We upgraded to the King suite overlooking Fenway. The room was very comfortable and included a bedroom with large flat-screen TV, separate living room with another large flat-screen TV, large bathroom an outside balcony. It's winter and too cold to enjoy the balcony but would be a great bonus when weather improves. The living room is just a bit outdated but comfortable. Overall very pleased and would definitely recommend.
We were very satisfied with the hotel. We only stayed there for one night to visit the Longwood medical area for an appointment. It was an easy 25 to 30 minute walk to the hospitals in Longwood. The room was great. It was very spacious. Overall, the hotel is kept in very good shape. If you need to be in this area of Boston for one or several nights, this hotel is a great choice.
I was traveling for my company SKO in January... yes I know who does that? In January? In Boston? Well, we had almost the entire hotel to ourselves. From the time that we walked into the door from the FFFRRREEEZZZZIIINNNGGG cold to the time I left 7 days later - the staff was simply the best. They were ALWAYS smiling, ALWAYS happy and always accommodating. I wanted to call out the doorman Stephen and The tall gentleman who was there most of the time - both with the Boston accent. Their services - standing by that rrreeealllly cold door helping everyone in and out...Just Thank you for the gracious hospitality - it was so very nice and unexpected. Secondly to the staff that served us breakfast lunch and dinner all week. I did ask their names - but I am ashamed to say I forgot......but incredible thoughtful services and kindness. I have not seen services done so well in a very very very long time. They made us feel so welcome - like family. The rooms were incredibly spacious, very clean, and very warm and inviting. The lounge, the meeting rooms, all of the spaces were so beautifully decorated and spacious. It was simply elegant - everything about the hotel and the staff. They also had this amazing yogurt in these clay jars that I think everyone was eating it every morning. The food was really really good - buffets are really hard to deliver. This was a wonderful experience with top notch services and accomodations. Rather you are looking for a hotel for a ight or 3, or a wedding venue, an elevated corporate or customer event space - this place has it all. My highest recommendations!!!
Will be our go to hotel in Boston. Amazing location, hotel accommodations and service - we got snowed in here, thankfully as it was great. They upgraded us to a lovely suite. Extremely convenient, next to the Kenmore Green Line T (we took the shuttle, to the Blue Line, then the Green - emerged from the elevator with our luggage and looked right to see the entrance to the hotel). Steps away from excellent restaurants (do yourself a favor and eat in Blue Ribbon Sushi) and across the street from Cornwalls (with a great assortment of boardgames!).
So many small things hurt the room, but the service from the valets and front desk attendance was on par with some of the best. Surprisingly breakfast on a Thursday was amazing but the same breakfast on Sunday came with burnt toast and expired ingredients. Not to mention a service charge + delivery fee.
Wow! I don’t usually write reviews but I was blown away by my stay here at Hotel Commonwealth. I came for my birthday and they treated me so well… great location in the heart of Backbay, the room they put me in was super cool, and every staff member was so kind, courteous and generous. I want to share a special shout out to Chris at the front desk who checked me in when I showed up a little too early and just made sure I was fully taken care of! I am very grateful to you :-) 10/10 recommend staying here if you’re visiting Back Bay
My husband and I recently booked the Hotel Commonwealth to stay at during our wedding weekend. We had our wedding in the Fenway area and the hotel was extremely conveniently located. From the second that we arrived, we felt extremely welcomed and well taken care of. The valet was efficient and very helpful. The front desk staff was so happy to have us staying with them and was essential at helping out wedding day run smoothly. They directed all of our visitors up to our room and helped grab any extra chairs or equipment that we needed. We stayed in the Executive Suite and had plenty of space to get ready with my bridal party on the morning of our wedding. The hotel was also extremely accommodating and let us take pictures prior to the wedding. We cannot recommend the Hotel Commonwealth more. They truly helped make our wedding weekend flow so seamlessly.
