The AC Hotel by Marriott Boston Cambridge offers a generally clean and modern experience with convenient location near public transport. However, recent reviews highlight inconsistent room temperatures, issues with amenities like sofa-beds and keycard functionality, and frustration with breakfast pricing. Staff responsiveness and customer service seem to vary.
This hotel was clean, recently refurbished and comfortable. Showers were quite nice. It has a parking deck which is nice if you have a vehicle, but it is not the most convenient hotel for things within walking distance. Harvard Square is about a 20 minute drive away.
My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel to be closer to my husband's work during the blizzard. As both a former front desk employee with Marriott and now a Titanium member, I cannot say enough about the staff at this location. Both Brody and Joyce at the front desk were so fun to talk with and they made my husband and I feel at home. This stay also happened to coincide with my birthday (I did not tell the staff this), and Joyce went above and beyond to ensure our short stay was special. Joyce surprised us with a beautiful room, snacks, drinks and even a birthday card from the front desk staff. We only live a few miles away in Malden, but after our experience at this location we will absolutely stay here again for a "weekend away." It's rare to find staff that are both professional and so genuine/authentic. Brody and Joyce are lovely humans and true assets to the Marriott name. Thanks, Emilie and Ben
AC Hotel by Marriott offers a clean, modern atmosphere with a calm and comfortable setting. The service is professional and courteous, making the experience smooth and pleasant. Food quality is good, with a well-presented menu, though options can feel a bit limited at times. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for a relaxed stay or casual dining, especially for those who prefer a contemporary hotel experience.
Everything ok until they decided to test their alarm system and wake me up with a blaring noise at 9am that will ensure this establishment will never get my money again. If you value sound sleep stay elsewhere. It was so loud I thought it was time to seek a fallout shelter. Never again Update: room was fully refunded so they did the right thing after the wrong thing.
Wonderful greeting at the reception desk from the Guest Supervisor, Expert Brody Runyon. So friendly, accommodating, professional, and welcoming! He went above and beyond to make our stay an excellent experience! Rooms were spotless, modern, and upgraded. Comfortable beds with fresh, new bedding. Great breakfast! If you ever stay at this hotel, ask for Brody Runyon, and you’ll be all set! Definitely recommend.
Hotel was nice looking but we had multiple issues with our room. Sofa-bed could not be unfolded due to room set up, so we had to change rooms. Had to ask for blankets because there were none in the room. Key card didn't work multiple times. Only clean room every other day.
I will not recommend this hotel to anyone. The staff are very unprofessional and rude. I booked through a third party app and was told I did not have a reservation for the next day. The gentleman who works overnight would not even look at my drivers license to see if I had a reservation. I asked very politely if he could see if I had one for the following day not sure he understood me. He called the police today I didn’t have a reservation that I was trespassing to contact the third party app. This was the most humiliating experience dont know why the police needed to be called. I would never treat someone with disrespect or raise my voice to anyone. He must of been tired and not wanting to do his job or even hear me out on what I was trying to explain to him. The staff definitely needs proper training this situation was completely out of line and uncalled for. When calling the next day to speak to a manager. Was told by the employee at the front desk that Sandy the manager charged my card canceled my reservation will not give me a refund and put me on a do not rent list. I think it’s highly unprofessional to not receive a call saying my reservation was cancelled or apologizing for the staff member not knowing that some reservations can take longer through third parties that’s probably why they couldn’t see it on their end the night before. However for Sandy.A to say she’s charging my card cancelling my reservation and won’t give me refund and put me on a do not rent list without understanding that there was a Lack in communication. I contacted corporate in regards to my concerns with the lack of professionalism from the staff at this location. It’s really sad to know that Marriott hotel hires people who treat long term customers in such a disgusting manner. Please beware do not stay at this location they are racist and you will be treated unfairly.
The hotel its self is pretty nice! Good clean rooms, nice amenities, would recommend it to anyone. However I’m not here to talk about that, I’m here to talk about the incredible staff. Our car had the battery die and the staff went out of their way to help jump start us. Even went as far as to help us figure out how to put the car in neutral with a locked gear stick. Everyone was incredible and deserves a raise I swear. Very very grateful for all the help we received and highly recommend this place for your next stay in Boston.
The room was very clean and hotel is clean in general. Located near T station and buses which is a major plus. On the minuses for us was $21 charge for breakfast - really Marriott? Charging this much for the room and taking advantage of guests because there are no place to get breakfast within a mile around the hotel is a new low for me. Charging $30 for parking is another money grab and the reason I probably won’t use this place unless the company pays for it. Also request to transfer to a quieter room immediately if you are given a room on the freeway side of the building - it gets pretty noisy with bikers and no muffler junk cars speeding at night. We were only there for three nights and are used to noise but at times it was too much even for us and we were on the fourth floor !
Room and everything was decent. Check in took forever; despite arriving hours earlier, hotel staff checked in others before us. Hotel breakfast was absolute scam- specifically due to the older gray haired male waiter. He added an additional 18% service charge two days in a row without disclosing the fact/informing us. Mind you, this is a buffet so he barely even did anything at all. We only realized when a different female waiter gave us the check on the third day and the price was much cheaper. Very disappointed.
