The Four Seasons Hotel Boston offers a comfortable and reliable luxury experience, particularly valued for its prime location across from Boston Common. Guests consistently praise the hotel's cleanliness, service, and convenient access to city attractions, though some have reported renovation-related disruptions.
I stayed at the Four Seasons Hotel Boston for a short trip, and overall it was a comfortable but fairly standard luxury hotel experience. The location is probably its biggest advantage. Being right across from Boston Common made it easy to walk to nearby shops, restaurants, and a few tourist spots without needing transportation. That convenience saved a lot of time. The room was clean and quiet, with a classic design that feels a bit dated in some areas, but still well maintained. The bed was comfortable, and I slept well during my stay. Nothing felt particularly modern or flashy, but everything worked as expected. Service was polite and professional. Staff were helpful when needed, though interactions were brief and not especially memorable. Check-in and check-out were smooth. Amenities like the pool and gym were decent, but I didn’t spend much time using them. The lobby felt calm but also a bit formal, which may or may not suit everyone. Overall, it’s a solid choice if you want a reliable stay in a central location, but it doesn’t stand out as particularly unique compared to other high-end hotels.
1000% wonderful experience, how will we ever go to another hotel? Every single member of the staff was professional, friendly & did their jobs well. Any questions or requests were taken care of immediately. We had a suite that was lovely & had plenty of room. The pool area was sparkling clean & well stocked, as was the entire hotel. In the morning they have free coffee for guests downstairs, there is also food to go but not complimentary. We had the fruit salad which was good. There are so many terrific restaurants within walking distance. Try Contessas, but make a res! The location is fantastic! We lucked out with a sunny weekend & ended up walking around the Boston Common & Public Gardens ( great people watching ). If you’re not familiar with Boston weather, always bring an extra jacket & scarf for when the wind blows in off the Atlantic.
We had an incredible stay! This hotel is definitely a place I will stay again, we came in for the prep game of the world cup, and what an amazing experience! It is a kid friendly place, with amazing amenities, nice surprises for all the kids staying there, and the staff was very attentive, to Socrates at the front desk, Amy, Jalen, Alejo in guest services, Miles, Orion, Gretchen at breakfast we were treated like royalty. My Son got to meet the players, got signature of his idol and will remember the stay at the Four Seasons Boston for the rest of his life. I want to express my most sincere gratitude to all the staff that made this experience so memorable and special! Thank you so much to all of you! It was again incredible! We will be back for sure and if you think twice about booking this hotel, just click book now and you will not regret it! AMAZING! THANK YOU!
Absolutely love this hotel. The service was excellent as a person who is legally blind. I cannot say how much I appreciated the staff at this hotel. They obviously had gone through disability etiquette training unless they just happened to find the most compassionate and understanding and easy going people in the world! And besides being accommodating to me with my disability, the staff was generally wonderful. We never seem to have to wait for anything. Our luggage came upstairs quickly and when we called to have her luggage picked up when we left I thought oh no we are at checkout time. We will take at least 30 minutes. They were there in 5 minutes. 24-hour room service. Hard to find anymore but they had it a workout room where the staff was there to hand you towels and water and clean off the equipment. Yep they had it. A room called The vault that you just use your own key to go in to get snacks like chips and candy and sparkling water staff that knew what was close by and gave you great recommendations. Whether you want to walk or use other means of true transportation, the food and the restaurant absolutely delicious. The best French toast I have ever had in my life. The room was a nice room, not as spacious as some other rooms but the bathroom was wonderful. I would go again definitely if you want five star treatment this is the place to be
I had an exceptional experience with Jonathan, the Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Boston. I originally booked a room through a third-party site for $1,800, only to later discover that the exact same room was listed for nearly $1,000 less directly on the Four Seasons website. When I tried to cancel the reservation through the third-party platform so I could rebook directly, my request was denied. When I called the Four Seasons, Jonathan stepped in and completely changed the situation. He personally took the initiative to contact the third-party company himself and worked to resolve the issue. His willingness to go above and beyond what most people would do made a huge impression on me. Because of Jonathan’s professionalism, kindness, and genuine commitment to helping guests, my stay in Boston turned into a truly positive experience. His level of service is exactly what you would hope for from a world-class hotel. I will absolutely continue staying with the Four Seasons whenever I’m in Boston, and that decision is largely because of Jonathan. He represents the very best of what hospitality should be. This was by far the best customer service I have ever received.
Great location & nice staff. However, we were not warned that the hotel renovations were ongoing throughout our stay & the drilling was terrible. Spa area was also closed so felt a bit ripped off.
Stay here with kids! They are so friendly to children including a secret surprise at check in and then a hotel-wide scavenger hunt. Pool is beautiful for all ages, as well. Rooms are comfortable. The morning complimentary coffee shop is also a great way to start the day and the staff in there are super friendly.
After many many times here at Boston, I find the Four Seasons the best option for this part of the city. The hotel is gorgeously decorated, the rooms are great, and the staff is super friendly and always looking forward to greeting you. If you like outdoors the two parks in front are so beautiful to visit, it makes it my favorite hotel. Also they offer good food and great breakfast options. We are also staying this time for a wedding and everything is amaaaaazing! I will keep coming and coming for sure ??
Exceeded expectations. 2 night stay as a couple, but would return with our children. The location was great! Staff were warm and friendly. The design is lovely. We enjoyed the gym, pool, bar and restaurant. They charged our EV overnight. Truly a gem in Boston.
There’s really no words to describe the perfection of this hotel. It’s possibly the most gorgeous hotel lobby I’ve ever been in. The rooms are wonderful as well but it’s the overall hotel vibe that makes it unbeatable. The service is phenomenal in the classic Four Seasons way, from the valet staff to the coffee shop baristas, everyone was helpful and genuinely friendly. The hotel decor is impeccable and so enjoyable to just sit and be in such a warm, inviting space. The location is incredible—just steps away from the Boston Public Gardens, which we enjoyed strolling through every day. Our son enjoyed a morning run around Boston with the chef (this is offered complimentary but check the schedule to see if it’s an option when you’re visiting based on the season). The complimentary morning beverages in the coffee shop were some of the best lattes I’ve ever had. The evening hot cider and sugar cookies in the lobby was a welcome treat after a cold evening of sightseeing in Boston. One note—We had a false emergency alarm go off on our last morning and I only mention this because it’s worth noting that their emergency system worked very well. The information was broadcast in the hallways, the elevators were automatically blocked off, and staff helped quickly direct us out of the hotel through the stairway. Having just been at another hotel elsewhere where we also had a false fire alarm go off (what are the chances twice in a row?!) and things did not work well, it was reassuring to see this hotel do a good job in an urgent situation.
